Indeed. When I worked at the GRO in Souhport, some of the early yearly reports made fascinating reading.

One I recall from a display in a registry office had Excitement as the cause of death. He was 63 and left a grieving widow age 27.

Do all countries generate their daily figures like we do and based on hispital deaths?

France was doing it for long time, then they included care home deaths in 2-3 successive days. There was probably 1.5k-2k of them, for 2-3 days their daily figures were around 1.5k. guess there is probably at least some 1000 more deaths in UK with care home deaths included.

The story is from 3 weeks ago, so if they were about to blame Italy, they're sitting on it a long time.

Its an interesting story, but surely there would have been some serious investigation on that illness in Lombardi in November ?

It will never go away,it will become a seasonal virus like flu,the population will build up immunity as we go along,remember we only have very small numbers confirmed,they just said in the briefing that we are not testing everyone so it will never be the true numbers reported,there are a lot of drugs already in use for other conditions being tested to see if they can help out whilst we are awaiting the vaccine
the bottom line i suppose is that we just have learn to live with it,it will mutate,whether that makes it stronger or weaker we will have to wait and see,there are painful times ahead in terms of deaths,relaxing lockdown is a delicate job,the numbers will spike again but we just have try and try and limit it

Edit,as chippy said there is a lot to learn about immunity and vaccination

I live in Crook, Co Durham, a small x mining town. Took my mother to a hospital appointment today. In the town center there were literally hundreds milling about and sitting on the benches. One of the Barbers was even open. They must think they are all immune. Very worried as just heard on our local news that our post code has the highest rate of infection in the North East. When I came back from the hospital I started filming them to send to the local news when a guy of about 60 told me he would give me a good kicking if i did not stop.

They sound a charming bunch round there.
