COVID-19 — Coronavirus

You went wrong with “as a Tory”, I’m not a Tory, I cannot stand this government and I didn’t vote for them. In fact I’ve only voted for them once in my life and it hasn’t been in a recent election.

I know it’s easy to do but I wouldn’t presume everyone who disagrees with your position is a Tory.

I’m not desperate for anything other than accurate reporting of the numbers and I’ve criticised the government for their policy on such. I think it’s a disgrace there’s thousands of families who think their loved ones died of COVID, when it was something else.

Excess deaths is a terrible method to measure actual COVID deaths, we’re in unprecedented times with the entire population in lockdown for several months, these deaths cannot be attributed directly to the virus without a test.
Don't agree mate about recording covid deaths without there having been a test.
You have to put your trust in a doctor who records the information on the death certificate.
That's been the system since 1837.
PS Sorry mate for describing you as a Tory (coughs), as you have previously issued a disclaimer on so many of your posts.

The International Society of Infectious Diseases - whoever they are - is suggesting the virus has mutated recently (especially in Europe) and is now more infectious than it was but less deadly.

No idea how credible this is. But it would fit what we are seeing.

As does the WHO statement today that globally under 50s are now driving up the case numbers pretty much everywere as these are as we have long known less likely to get very sick or die than those older.

Also that, whilst still infectious, a high percentage of them are asymptomatic as they spread it.

The reason why I said it was highly unlikely is because antibody dependent enhancement appears rare. It is probably of clinical importance in Dengue fever.
The vaccinologists have not reported it in the animal models of the vaccines they are developing , the phase 3 trials which should take nothing like 10 years should give further reassurance.
In the meantime if it was likely to be a practical problem with covid convalescent plasma would make the condition worse when it appears to make it better.
I'm sure it'll be less than ten years but in my opinion there's a hell of a long way to go just yet. There are opinions on all sides, I'm sure Scientific American would have mentioned ADE wasn't something to worry about in their article if that was definitely the case. I'll agree though that most vaccines that get decided on will have a good rate of success but I'll put my mortgage on there being some considerable numbers of adverse effects reported. After all, how long will it take to test this vaccine for patients with all the different underlying health issues.

You don’t need to apologise for it, I just wanted to point out I’m not one, I don’t identify as any political party but I am closer to them than you, I’d imagine, I just don’t like them and never really have.

Anyway, I’m not against a Doctor giving an accurate assessment, I think it has been far looser than normal, for example my friend’s grandmother sadly died of a stroke. The family knew it was a stroke but because there were COVID deaths the same week in the care home, it went down on the death certificate.

A doctor didn’t give an accurate assessment, it was done slap dash and the family fought and ultimately had it removed from the death certificate.

There’s so many accounts of this happening but how many families will know to do so and how many will have died without family?

Wales data. Happily 0 deaths again.

But new cases up to 24 from fewer tests so up on yesterdays rate at 0.45%

Last Tuesday the data was 13 cases at 0.2%

I didn't say it wasn't something to worry about, in fact I specifically alluded to it in my first post when I said that it could make things worse.
What I said is that it is very unlikely and should be revealed by phase 3 trials if it is to occur.

N Ireland data - 0 deaths. 41 new cases at 0.65% testing rate.

298 positive cases in last 7 days. Compared with 194 in seven days to last Tuesday and 48 new cases then from similar number of tests.

There were 9 patients in hospital last Tuesday in N Ireland.

Today it is 4.

Looks like its observational conjecture at the moment, the guy that said it is the president elect of the "The International Society of Infectious Diseases" so its unclear if its a personal view or that of the organisation.

Edit..... And this is key, this is not a new mutation. its the one discovered in Feburary and is the one that was suspected of being the one travelling the world back then. the more deadly one was trapped in China. It was in one of the Dr Campbell videos back in the day.

Edit: This video.
