That Scottish data compared week to week is the first rise over the danger % of 1% that Nicola Sturgeon warned about yesterday. So will refer to it in her briefing coming up (late today as it is a big policy speech too).

Last week it was just 46 cases (108 fewer) at 0.8% v 1.2%.

And there were just 1 in icu ventilator beds versus 6 today.

And there were 243 in hospital (a fall of 5 from the day before) versus 264 today - so the largest week to week rise in months for Scotland.

That 264 is 6 up in 24 hours too.

66 of the cases are in Greater Glasgow and 'the situation there is causing us some concern'. Says Nicola Sturgeon in a big speech she is giving now. And they are looking into what to do and will be having a meeting later to decide.

Surely Manchester style restrictions for the city are coming.

Welsh data not too good either.

1 death - first in a while.

And 51 new cases at 1.1%.

Last week it was 0 deaths and 28 cases at 0.45% of tests.

So both Wales and Scotland have gone over that marker today for the first time in a while.

N. Ireland data is a little brighter. But not entirely.

49 cases from 0.69% of cases. Down on recent days. But almost identical to the 47 cases and 0.7% last week.

However, less good is patients here UP too - though only by 1 to 18.

And even more concerning - icu ventilator beds which have been zero for a long time and is partly why no deaths have been occurring here in some time has risen too in past days and now sits at 3.

3 patients out of just 18 being sick enough to need a ventilator is certainly something to raise concern.

Since Scottish schools returned 77 pupils aged between 12 and 17 have tested positive.

But 11,208 tested negative so the rate is 0.7%.

According to the UK government Track and Trace has now contacted over 300,000 people identified from the recent testing programme as contacts of those who tested positive. The numbers now sit at 84% of contacts identified who are traced and advised to self isolate. Though, of course, no data on how many actually did.

The biggest concern of mine is what happens when schools/colleges/universities open up. Public transport will be a lot busier with less spaces and much more capacity.

Wouldn't shock me if we are closing them back within a month or two of opening.

Nicola Sturgeon announces she is developing the terms for a new independence referendum and will fight next years election on implementing it.

In UK parliament Hancock asked to devolve testing and tracing to local authorities after Stockport put down their success in keeping cases low when in the GM outbreak by successfully tracing 99% of contacts from identified cases at a local level.

Hancock said no and that 'a national system is better'. And the UK one is 'in the top tranche in the world'
