So all data in for today:

10 UK hospital deaths versus 15 last week.

Cases from the 3 nations other than England total 254 versus 119 last week.

Last week the 15 deaths became 16 in all settings. And the 119 cases added another 1065 from England to become 1184 cases for the UK. From 147,000 pillar 1 & 2 tests - so in total about 0.8%.

The England contribution to that number was at a ratio of 0.95% - the highest of the four nations as you can see above.

Whereas we start off today with both Scotland and Wales rising a lot from last week and both higher than that England cotribution by %.

Unless England has a low % and drop in case numbers today that does not bode too well for the numbers to come.

Bolton council have now formally asked 'with a heavy heart' the government to keep them in restrictions as 'cases have surged'. This was apparently totally 'unforseeable'. Though probably less of a surprise to anyone reading this thread. Not sure if the government have agreed but the council are adamant so I cannot see any other option.

Scary report from China about how one person with Covid on a bus infected 23 of the other 68 passengers whilst on a journey of less than an hour despite some of them sitting well away from patient zero.

My missus starts a new job tomorrow with a regular, lengthy bus commute. Told her to just open every window around her from now on!

Okay 3 all settings deaths today from the 10 hospital ones. Not sure how.

And 1295 new cases. So 1041 added from England. So England added a couple of dozen less than this day last week.

This article (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8094933/How-one-man-spread-coronavirus-NINE-people-bus.html) is from March but a different infected person. Interestingly those people wearing masks weren't infected. Government, councils, shops etc should have lessons for how to wear a mask correctly. For the avoidance of doubt a mask should cover both the mouth and nose, not one or the other and it definitely isn't a chin covering. Amazing how difficult some people find it to wear one correctly.

I think you are referring to this report - from January and again before mask wearing was compulsory. Seems odd that it took the WHO so long to advise about masks

Regional scoreboard news shows a surprise rise in London but falls elsewhere.

London 188 (up from 160)

Midlands 101 (down from 115)

Yorks 117 (way down from 217).

North West - still top - but not by much - at 200 - down from 266 and lowest in a week.
