As long as it doesn't further perpetuate the increase in cases / deaths

As for cases last Saturday the three nations were at 429 cases and England later added 3068 to total 3497.

Today we start from the 3 nations at a record 784 that obliterates by some way the previous recent high.

Not that long ago this was the typical UK total with England added. Indeed just 29 days ago we had less than today'total from the three nations for the whole UK even with England included.

Not boding well for UK numbers, NW numbers or GM numbers later.

Not sure mate. Apologies if it’s the one you’d already posted I must have missed it. Still, worth a look for anyone else who might have missed it.
I think looking at that is the exact opposite of what we are doing at the minute. Respiratory viruses kill vulnerable people every year and that seems to have been forgotten at the minute. Evidence, evidence, evidence is the only science we should be following and having leaders who are prepared to change course, as soon as the evidence dictates.

I did not post it. Someone else did (thought it might have been you). I found this chap very interesting and his data impressive. So no criticism intended - just hoped it was a sequel. Will take a look in case it is.

The 16 England hospital deaths today were all aged between 69 and 97 and all of them had known underlying conditions.

It remains utterly sensible that we lock down older, vulnerable age groups and minimise interactions with those still out there willing to risk their health v their liferstyle.

And I have said on here before they need older icons like Bill Roache to do TV messages to explain this - not political broadcasts nobody really listens to.

Have no clue why they are so out of touch with the people they really need to persuade to stay safe.

Sometimes I wonder what planet politicians and their scientists live on.

According to the Telegraph the government and science advisers are discussing asking people to have a 'contact diet plan' strategy to tot up how many people they meet each week to keep within a set 'calorie' like number

They cannot do simple stuff like target TV ads at the vulnerable using people the audience intended will trust.

But they expect everyone to go round with a calculator working out if they are yet at their 'contact limit'.

When will they get that spin and gimmickery is the last thing we need and simple direct unified messaging is the way to get things across? Do they have nobody with an IQ under 1000 and a common sense quotient above zero out there?

Every day these days is like watching a new series of Yes Minister.

It is the kind of thing Spitting Image used to spoof as satire but made tragically real.

London 320 - down from 377

MIdlands 442 - down from 469

Yorkshire 529 - UP from 517

ANd North West - second worst ever numbers at 1334 - but at least down from 1402 - so a slightly lower UK % than yesterday.
