Other regions:

Midlands - up from 1775 to 2427 - almost 3 times where it was 9 days ago.

North East - up from 1438 to 1888 - highest ever here too.

Yorkshire - up from 3189 to 4129 - by some margin the most ever here too. Higher number than Yorkshire had in the catch up day (3606) when they found all those cases and added them on one day.

And North West - up from 5037 to 5468 - much the smallest increase of the regions today and well below the number it was on the day all those lost cases were added (6742)

Sorry to hear this mate. My daughter is nine and has been starting to show some OCD, stuff like the light being on and doors being open.

We figure it's her way of feeling safe and in control. We were recommended some great books that can explain things to kids in ways they can understand. I'll try and get the titles for you.

During lockdown, by little girl felt like she was going to be sick at bedtime and would do anything not to go to sleep for weeks on end, just through anxiety.

I thought she was just trying it on but then I started to understand how confusing it must be to try and rationalise what is going on.

She's good as gold now, got her involved in girls football and is now being scouted by both City and United, done wonders for her wellbeing.
Nothing wrong with leaving the landing light on and bedroom door open. She just needs the security of hearing mum and dad's voices and a semblance of norm lity knowing you are there for her bless her. And dont let the rags get their hands on her she will never get over that!!

The England hospital data today is - however - pretty bad too.

426 added in a day (think that is a record) up from 5402 to 5828. It was 3905 a week ago.

Last time there were this many in England hospitals was 28 May.

We are now more than one third of the way toward the total numbers in England with Covid at the peak of wave one on 12 April - when there were 17,172.

It really suits some jobs. If she ends up with a job involving data and figures, having to stick to strict deadlines and budgets, a bit of OCD is an ideal trait.

Looking at that graph we will probably be hitting 28k actual daily cases next week maybe even more as id imagine the higher the figures get the faster it spreads.

The England hospital ventilator situation no more comforting.

Up in day from 528 to 559. It was 441 last Monday and was last this high on 1 June.

But we are further away from the peak of this in wave one as we are happily needing these less as a treatent method.

That peak was on 12 April and was 2881. So we are not even at 20% of that number yet happily,

My grand daughter age 11 has got very clingy hanging on to her Mums arm/shoulder every second totally unlike her I put it down to growing up hormones I hadn’t even considered COVID anxiety.
but this generation of young children are having a dreadful childhood and there parents. don’t know how to handle it only with patience and knowing it will be over eventually.

Thanks mate. My daughter would never agree to it, she is already a rabid blue.
