No we were never Germany. Yes we fucked up not having enough tests, but so did many others, that is what happens in a time of crisis.

This crisis crept up on many governments and by then it was all about fire fighting, I think we've done a remarkable job in many ways, its by no means perfect but few countries are, not even Germany, and I believe we introduced our "lockdown" earlier than other countries did.

I can't be bothered arguing about political parties, they don't interest me, but there is a global crisis, and we have a government that was caught cold like most others, but I believe they have done the best they can to actually get us to a position that is as good as most.

People compare the different numbers released each day, its the wrong thing to do, as we won't know the full story until it has ended which is a long time away. Countries count in very different ways, we are possibly one of the only ones that are now looking at all deaths, the big picture will come out, but now is not the time for political argument about why we stopped testing and contact tracing, when we were in no place to do so beyond the first week of March.

Anyway I'm done on this, its pointless and serves no purpose.

Age is the most likely factor.
The older you get the more your immune system deteriorates. The weaker your imune system, the longer it takes it to fight a virus and the more likely your bodies immune system will go into overdrive and start attacking your own body.
Daughter reckons a drug to provide a day or so
boost to the imune system before being removed from the prescription would work wonders. The drugs the NHS has to boost your imune system (e.g. Interferon) are geared towards fighting cancer not viral infection.
Similarly drugs to kill the various inflammation responses in the human body are needed to stop the Cytokine storm that kills people. The death of most COVID-19 patients is just like Sepsis in the end. Who ever creates these will make a fucking fortune.

My retirement is fucked because I'm out of work and my pension fund is fucked. Of course I watch briefings. I took a third of my pension to look after the wife for two years who had terminal cancer and died in January. The money will run out at the end of August and I need to get back in the job market and work for ten years to rebuild my pension/savongs.
As such, I needed COVID-19 like a hole in the head
To get back in the job market, I have to become accredited so I'm spending 6 hours a day doing online learning courses to Get AWS Solution Architect Associate and Togaf 9.2 Associate acreditarion. Both are achievable.

Really sorry to hear about your wife and I wish you the best of luck with your courses. I’m sure you’ll crack that.
I’m doing similar and networking like there’s no tomorrow...hadn’t used LinkedIn until a few weeks ago. I must’ve spoken to over 500 people in the past few weeks in order to get help and advice on there. Same with courses and research. In fact one of the positives in this is that a few big courses have been made free during the pandemic.

No new cases for a while now so we're allowed to travel 50 kilometres.
And to sit on public benches, tables etc.
Sounds horrible in the UK, so many deaths.

Given Trump’s shared numerous Breitbart and Infowars crap on twitter. It’s entirely plausible he’s seen the same videos or tweets often shared on here and thinks that’s ‘evidence’. Or likely this that did the rounds yesterday and had Sugar retweeting it before deleting it.
