Road map for how we rebuild ? Steps have been laid out but guided by the science at every step

Prepared for a second wave ? Will keep the R down,no measures changing until we are confident the nhs wouldn't be overwhelmed, very slow way out of lockdown measures, the reality is until we get a good vaccine it is not going away ,we might have to learn to live it long term,we don't yet understand if covid is seasonal yet

Loss of taste and smell,uk late to add it to the list ? It has been a symptom, how often and when in the illness does it occur and is it the only symptom, all questions that needed answering, cough and temp are the main ones, wanted to be sure it should be added in,you don't miss cases as it comes with other symptoms

Common sense to wait to go back to work or school before track and trace? Tracers recruited,60,000 downloads of apps, most use medium to longer term

Covid illness in children ,mild disease except for rare cases, data suggests rate of infection in children is much the same as adults, maybe less in smaller kids, can kids transmit it ? Data says not super spreaders and less infectious than in flu

Will app be ready by june first to reassure parents ,you said mid may? Good progress with the app,it is one part of track and trace, getting tests back quicker? you are right we need to do this faster

Origin of the pandemic? Working with other countries to look at it

Joining of two households together ? It is under review by SAGE

Camping outdoors ? No real answer

Migraint care workers risking their lives have to pay £625 to use the nhs ? No current plans to change it (disgusting),looking for a sympathetic immigration policy, pays tribute to them(sure his kind words will help their empty wallets)

Home counties differences in releasing lockdowns? Different data, different leaders,we have provided them all with help

No way that can’t be true. He must have been jumping on a bandwagon.
True Blue, so quit the dissin'!
"O'Leary has also been a Manchester City supporter since an early age. In 2003, he was offered the opportunity to buy a stake in the club but believed the potential benefits did not outweigh the risk and preferred to visit England to watch a few matches each season.[45] He wore a Manchester City shirt when unveiling Ryanair's new destinations to and from Manchester Airport in 2011.[46]"

Can anyone, in the current climate, justify this:
Q: Why do migrant care workers have to pay the NHS surcharge, which charges them to access the health system that in many cases they serve?

Raab says there are no plans to change the rules. But the government recognises that many people come to this country and make a valuable contribution.

No, it's completely unjustifiable, the least those workers deserve under the circumstances is the same free access to NHS services as the rest of us.

O'Leary used to have a table in the sponsors lounge as far back as 1991, he has been a Blue since the Swales days.

It made my heart sink when I read about it a few weeks ago. Is there an alternative though?

Would you sacrifice 20 monkeys if it meant possibly saving 100K humans?

The ethics of it are extremely difficult.
Would you sacrifice 20 humans if it meant saving 100k lives? Not a question that I have an answer to. Well I may do so long as I wasn't in and amongst the 20, nor was anyone I know.

Everyone who served in the military must have asked themselves a similar question the first time they went into combat. i know I did.

Seven of those had no known underlying health condition, and they were aged between 50 and 85.

  • North East & Yorkshire - 28
  • North West - 24
  • South East - 16
  • South West - 6
In Wales, a further four people have died, taking its total to 1,207.

The number of deaths in Northern Ireland has risen to 482, after six more deaths were reported.

In Scotland, there were two further deaths reported, taking its total to 2,105.

Dept of health

Interesting interview with professor Tim Spector on sky,he is a genetic epidemiologist at kings college, they are doing research into covid patients/symptom who says the loss of taste and smell symptoms were obvious and reported weeks ago, those people would have been left to infect others

He says this disease is something he has never come across before, in thirty years, admits we don't understand it,it is weird the way people get symptoms differently and so many different reactions to it and we do not understand the immune response

Refreshing to listen to someone honest ,i wil post it when it is written up later

If it can reduce the severity in most cases, then it depends on what you're counting as successful! I'd be happy if I knew I'd get the virus but having been vaccinated it'll be mild to moderate symptoms at worst for example.

would be ok for herd immunity but those at risk could still get hammered by it I guess?

I think we can say the Oxford vacine is not going to be successful after it's pretty disastrous Monkey trials.

Good job UK pharma signed a deal with Bill Gates to share vaccine manufacture.
Of course there's the Imperial College London vaccine that is being developed.

I think you are being a little bit negative here. Trials are exactly that. They may have learned things from the trials that point them in the direction of a more successful outcome.

The scientists have said all along they are confident that this thing can beaten it might take a little time. I have faith that they will crack it.
