The problem is that parts of Wales and England are so inter-connected that any attempt at a blockade or border control would be impossible

Just three examples of very many that it would be possible to cite:

About half the workforce at Airbus Broughton commutes over the border from Chester, Ellesmere Port and the Wirral
Hundreds of kids from NE Wales go to school each day in Chester
If you want to travel by train from Chester to Shrewsbury you have to cross into Wales and then back again, the same goes for the trunk road (A483)

And a good proportion of JLR employees in Halewood reside in Wales

Maybe behind on this one as I didn't check over the weekend.

a breakdown on ages and IFR per age group.

The estimated IFR
close to zero for children and younger adults
reaching 0.4% at age 55,
1.3% at age 65,
4.2% at age 75,
and 14% at age 85.

Dr Campbell added 25+% for over 90.

Interesting paper that, suggests that the age adjusted IFR is similar across many countries and differences in IFR between countries are largely explained by differences in age structure.

It’s not that scary. It highlight the real problem which is producing numbers by ’reported date’ instead of by ‘date of specimen‘ and they should always using a 7 day rolling average. You’d think they’d have worked all this out after 6 months but sadly not.

Add to that that the numbers of people testing positive is about as reliable as Benjamin Mendy and we have a system that isn't fit for purpose.

I’ve had that twice now mate, fucking shambles.

Get the notification on my lock screen, swipe right to take me into app and then there’s no mention of anything in there.
 
My Daughter just been told to self isolate at home for two weeks as someone in her support bubble at School has tested positive. Her support bubble is her entire year of 250 pupils and she hasnt even been in the same class room as the positive pupil. We will abide but I have to say I dont think this is logical.
 
Putting each test as a spreadsheet column?
Transferring data as a CSV or Excel spreadsheet is bad enough but to put to use columns rather than rows?
Which idiot designed this system?
My mistake it wasn't designed it was thrown together one day by someone who didn't know what they were doing at PHE.
The feeds come from the NHS, PHE labs and Serco. PHE then collates and distributes the data.
I despair.

We're in exactly the same situation this end. One kid in another class tested positive, all year 6 classes sent home on Friday for 2 weeks. We're lucky enough that we can both work from home but I know other parents who have been completely screwed for the next two weeks by this.
