Covid and travel discussion

didnt see that coming, but they do have a problem there with boats coming in from the African coast which many have been positive, Tenerife well up on infections over fuerteventura so may be advised to keep an eye on this if your going out there soon enough, Spain level 3 is quite strict so wouldnt want to holiday in those circumstances

There's very little tangible difference between levels 2 and 3 in the Canaries, particularly for the average holidaymaker just going for a week or 2 of sunshine and nothing much more strenuous than that.

Differences between different Alert Levels in the Canary Islands. What does level 3 mean for tourists? (guidetocanaryislands.com)

I was in Fuerteventura last week and didn't hear/see anything of this alleged 'boat problem', it also seems a bit too simplistic to put 2 and 2 together in relation to their Covid cases.

Level 4 is when the restrictions really start to kick in; I think Tenerife was Level 4 for large parts of summer and the jump from 3 to 4 is much worse than 2 to 3, in terms of levels.

The valencian region of spain is open fully and apart from masks and social distancing as well as Covid passports required under certain cirtcumstances you'd unlikely miss out on anything you would normally.

I fly out to Tenerife on Monday morning. It’ll just be my luck that they jump from Level 1 to Level 4 the same day ;)
That said, it’ll still beat being at work I guess!

Can't remember the name of the poster who was facing issues getting into Thailand as a family however it seems they have relaxed the rules a bit now....

Nightmare isn't it, I don't envy you trying to keep on top of the ever changing picture.
It's hard enough to keep up to date with the rules for Europe, long haul is an entirely different and bigger beast.

Hope you both have a speedy recovery mate, all the best.

I’m there now it’s lovely at present in Adeje around 25 degrees
Masks when at breakfast and walking round the hotel otherwise all good
Bring a jumper or light jacket for the evening that’s my only advice

Yeah basically the same in Lanzarote.

Got pinged from Benidorm flight last Monday, today! Don’t have to isolate because I’m double jabbed but I’ve been roaming around and in work, really what’s the point?

Unless you are mandated to have it because of your job I'm not sure why anyone would have the app on their phone.

My girlfriend got pinged last month a week after the contact, which would have only been on the bus to and from work or when she picked up lunch. I didn't know the rules had changed re double jabs, so I told her to delete the app off her phone and ignore it.

She didn't need anymore time off work sick (already had some days off because of post vaccine sickness) and it would spoil the rest of our weekend.

I'm not an antivaxxer or denier and have worn the mask even when not obligated to but there is no point in this silly pinging bollocks.

They texted us to immediatly isolate then followed through with a telephone call.

You don't have the app to be pinged if you have been away as they have all your details from the passenger locator form. Exactly the same happened to me at the end of October, also a Benidorm flight. I've never had the app
