Cricket Thread

It’s probably already been said repeatedly, but have NZ learned nothing from the England semi final, about the perils of putting this India side in first?
They were probably confident after chasing in the Semi and you need to play your own game.

To be fair, I don't think this forum takes any pride in the British Raj. I've seen a general dislike for Kohli here, but don't understand who riles them in this current side.

Don't fool yourself.. some do.

Just like some are currently very pro bombing others into oblivion creating more "space" for them.. even if they don't want to comment on it anymore..

Hopefully it is a minority..

Hopefully the majority are like me.. Like I can't stand Steve Smith and Labuschane but I actually like Starc and Boland!

Well done to the India team worthy winners. To score over 500 runs between the semi and the final is incredible. Big match players. Bumrah fantastic with the ball aswell. Feel like they can set any sort of target with that batting line up now, feel Kohli was somewhat limiting them with his tendency to soak up 40 or 50 balls at a 140 SR, the game has moved beyond that in the shortest format.

Yep it looks done here..

I definitely agree that T20 cricket is a whole different game for batters who are primarily ODI/ Test format batters.

The bowlers can be versatile but not the batters!

They still have a use as when the pitch favours the bowlers a little they come into their own but when the pitches are as good as they have been in the Semi and Final you need a line up full of 6 hitters.

NZL were very very poor with ball . Will be cheering for them or saf to win the World Cup . Also how much we hate Aussie , they are diffrent beast in semis and finals .

If you bat first and score 250 and you have India’s bowlers they win those games 99% of the time

If Joffra had been promoted in the order.. England might have had a better chance.. the ball just flies off his bat.

But at this point it's a coulda, woulda, shoulda but didn't!

Helps when you manipulate tournaments to be played on your patch.
The previous T20 world cup was played in US/West Indies and the Asia Cup was in Dubai. There is an aura and intimidation about this side, that I used to feel about the great ODI Aussie teams.

Umm..

Doesn't seem that manipulated.. 3 times in 19 years but certainly more than anyone else. WI has 2.. the rest have 1.

And Australia and England are getting their 2nd turn next!
General point about how the ICC along with a few rich men have destroyed cricket to enrich themselves. Along with the corruption and match fixing I have no time for the team and any win for them comes with asterix for me.

Oh I am definitely not a fan of the ICC here at all!

But I can say the same for PL, FA, EUFA, FIFA.. they are all corrupt to the core!

XI for first game:
Luke Wells
Harry Singh
Josh Bohannon
George Bell
Michael Jones
Matty Hurst (wk),
George Balderson
Tom Hartley
Tom Bailey
Ajeet Singh Dale
James Anderson (c)

Obviously Dale's debut, but the other new signing Paul Coughlin doesn't play and Harris is still in Australia. Jennings and Aspinwall both injured, which is concerning as the former got the 5 year contract before the last season, and has not played any franchise etc over the winter, so was hoping for a better start this season.

See how long the Burnley Express lasts. Last season he was good for 5 overs a day, the second 5 were less effective.
