I'm guessing that India will be disappointed with that total. When they were 430/3, they must surely have been looking at somewhere around 550-600. Losing the last 7 wickets for 41 isn't great. However, unless the weather seriously intervenes, I can't see past a fairly comfortable win for the tourists.

Given where it stood with only three wickets down, a draw for England, even with the help of the rain, would feel like a moral victory, and would help them to reset for the rest of the series, maybe.
If, however, England were to be beaten by an innings — still possible, despite India's “low” score — the rest of the series would just fold for England like cardboard in a rainstorm.

It looks like it’s bent on the start of delivery but ends up straight it looks very suspect but he’s Indian so there will be little appetite from those commentators who feed at the IPL trough to question it.
No he’s fine under the rules brought out a few years ago. The arm doesn’t have to be 100% straight anymore. Many, many bowlers have that sort of action now

The rule was changed to allow a 15 degree flex to avoid a row with India over Murali, iirc.
I still think Murali was a chucker.

Crawley keeps getting picked
I've raised this issue before, and was told that there's not that many alternatives around on the county scene. Now, I'll be honest here; I don't avidly follow the domestic game all that closely, though the blast will pass an evening. So I can't really say, "well; what about x, or y, or z". But if Crawley is the best available, it's a damning indictment of the county scene.

I reckon Bethell might be tried as an opener if Crawley continues to fail this summer.

He hardly ever gets a score in the County game either, he's nowhere near the best.

They want quick scorer's above all else, Boycott wouldn't get picked now because of his run rate.

If they don't, maybe worth trying Haseeb Hameed again , currently leading the county averages with an average of 81 scoring 734 runs
I did nearly mention him. He should be on the radar, but he doesn’t seem to play “Bazball”, so not sure he will get a look in. They’d probably pick Jennings ahead of him.

I remember both Boycott and Barrington being dropped for slow scoring after scoring centuries. Barrington vs NZ I think and Boycott vs India. Boycott was about 103* at the end of day 1 and went on to score about 146. Hardly anyone else got a decent score but that didn’t save the Yorkshire opener.
Did Barrington get 311 in that innings before being dropped? Very vague memory.

Didn't Botham purposely run him out once because he was scoring slowly?

Sure he did but no idea who it was against.

I don't remember Barrington at all, he was a bit before my time mate.
