Disappointed in Pope he should have the mentality to at least not play anything wide this morning!

Need these two to put on 100 at least or one of them get a big 100 Brook can do that if his head is on it

The skipper is doing his usual slow and watchful start. We hope his innings blossoms as it did here against the Aussies to win a test.

Didn't know about him. Have to admit I had to google him. Did he really have the reputation as the slowest scorer ever? Takes some doing beating Barrington.
Wasn't helped that after every ball he would walk half way to square leg , he has 2 if the 13th slowest test match 50s , whilst being known as being defensive , he was acrualy quite attacking in one day formats

For him, yeah.

His strike rate in ODIs was 53.56, which is extremely pedestrian.

God that must have annoyed the shit out of the bowler, and fielders. Not to mention the spectators.

Actually, maybe we could do with a bit of that shithousery right now… For the next two days

;-)

Shame really but you go for big shots that’s the danger especially with people on the outfield!

Maybe we can get within 70 of India

Yet they still bowled more overs in a day than is managed now!

I watched him and Fowler (I think) get hundreds against Hadlee's NZ team. Nice sunny day from memory. Had to leave as Botham came in, and hadn't got clear of the ground before he was out.

What's the weirdest bowling run up ever witnessed ?
I'd go with Asif Masood (Pakistan mid 70s) - half a sideways shuffle at the start, John Price (Kent and England early 70s) - a weird arcing run up and Bob Ratcliffe (Lancashire 70s/80) - a moon hopping style.
