If India get north of 200 in this innings they’ll feel like they’ve got out of jail. It will be interesting to see their odds on winning the game should they do so.

I'm assuming that these investors must think it's popular. If not, would they be pumping in £500m into the game?

As for the licence fee; being played in just about every cricketing nation, does the ICC actually "own" the T20 format, and that countries who wish to stage a domestic T20 competition have to pay for the privilege? Whereas I'm pretty sure that the Hundred is only played in England and Wales, and is therefore "owned" by the ECB?
The ECB invented both, although T20 just follows the normal rules with a 30% power play and it was 20 over cricket at school.

The 100 will die a death as no one else plays it - it will end up T20, especially now most franchises are owned by IPL T20 franchise owners.

I wonder how the attendance figures would change if T20 ran in August and the 100 before.
How much difference would school holidays make?
They were peaking in 2019, Lancashire broke their own record for a non-Yorks game 3 times that season. There had been a lull about 10 years earlier as the number of games expanded too quickly but it grew into the 14 game format over a decade played June July etc.

The 100 is 4 home games. What has gone up is the cheapest adult tickets are £21 in advance for LCCC T20, there were £8 in 2019, and since COVID more are just watching on youtube.

The Hundred was to be launched in 2020 as it was meant to be a T20 comp, but they changed it with 3 years to go. Now it will just be an IPL subsidiary due to the investors, and it still loses loads of money.

India looking in a good position for me they push on to 270/300 that is a very good score! Think the pitch will do a bit for another day or two!

Oh look at this pitch India a desperate for a win and it’s a pitch that actually looks hard to bat on!

It pisses me off with the pitches we prepare for test matches! ECB should threaten to no take a test match to certain counties if they don’t prepare pitches which England want!

I rekon it'll go flat as a pancake by tomorrow evening

Woakes out for the rest of the test with a shoulder injury. Down to Atkinson Tongue and Overton as our front line attack. I guess Root could do a job, though it doesn't look like a spin friendly pitch.

Tongue just takes wickets!

Looking at the movement this morning looks like 250 is a good score! Yep we say you got to wait till both teams has batted but this looks 200/250 pitch

8 down. Let's see what the Indians can do with the ball, but i think 220 is looking pretty competitive in the conditions.

and that's that in a few overs. 224 all out, a battling 57 from Nair and a decent 38 from Extras today.

What can England do then? looks pretty tricky out there!!
