250 used to be a huge score in ODIs when I first started watching cricket. Nowadays, 400 isn’t exactly a rarity. It’s crazy how much the game has changed.
 
Didn't know anything about Atkinson, I'll say it frankly (don't follow county cricket at all closely, to be fair). He seems to have bowled nothing short of brilliantly yesterday and today. What can you folks tell me about him? Is this a surprise?

In T20s, 200 is becoming increasingly common. And yes; I appreciate that it's easier to maintain a run rate of 10 in the shorter format of the game. Doing it over 40 or 50 overs would be harder, though (as you say) not totally impossible. England have done it 6 times.

I admit that I got him all wrong. I thought he was wrongly fast-tracked into the test team merely by bowling 90mph in a couple of Hundred games.

He’s been a revelation ever since he made his debut last year and he’s a handy bat, too.

I think he’ll enjoy bowling in Australia.

Fucking lunatic shot. Do our opener’s understand the importance of hundreds and in fact than going on to make big hundreds. I accept both openers did well but both got out with stupid unnecessary shots. Given our lack of bowling and we are batting last, we need a big lead. Nasser stop ducking DK’s cock by the way

Root's reaction says all you need to know about India's behaviour this series...one of the calmest guys in cricket. On the plus side, it shows India are rattled. Now is the time to consolidate rather than go after everything, time shouldn't be an issue this match, weather of course permitting.
