Ok I have been busy the last few days.. so totally missed what's going on.

Anyone have a cliff notes version.. what happened with Ben Stokes?

Why is he retiring after he won a test?
 
Atherton has come at it with a different narrative with Stokes! Mentally is he right he looks like he is at an end of a series summer than after one game ending after 2/3 days! When he did his after match conference!

I agree.
Stokes said he was looking forward to sharing “a proper beer with the boys” after the first test.

It was a curtailed test on a park pitch.
He was talking like we'd won a 5 test series on the last day!
 
Why does it feel that the ECB look weak? Why didn’t they just come out and say the test was won so there was no in camp rules then and it was the players free time and that’s the end of it! Media would argue about it the people would have strong opinions but it would die down after the a week or two! Now with it being dragged out it looking like it’s a massive big deal!
 
Is that Video of outside the pub fighting is true well don’t know where stokes and Atkinson stand! Oh that’s what to much drinking looks like when some people can’t control there drinking or there actions under the influence! One of the worse legal drug ever!

I've wondered that, lets be honest it was a terrible test match, on a dreadful pitch, which England won, and earned themselves an extra couple of days off, why is there a curfew on peoples days off ? The next match is not until Jun 17th, I doubt they would be training for a few days anyway.

Of course the issue isn't the curfew, it's the drinking culture, but surely it's not difficult to just say "have a good night out, but stay out of bother" ?

Do you really think that has to be said to adult men, professional sportsmen, an England captain and someone who has previous. If you have to at this stage of his career he(they) are beyond listening to any advice and should be binned.

Not really, but having a curfew for adult professional sportsmen outside of games, also seems a bit ridiculous and over the top, especially when they don't play again for 9 days.

So a question to you then. Why is there a curfew in place in the first place? Or have you forgotten about New Zealand and Australia?

The captain then broke the curfew. It’s a shit show and if it was an isolated incident fine but it is yet another incident that shows how arrogant and entitled this current batch of players are.

I really hope stokes and “baz” are shown the door. Sick of them and their arrogance

I'm fully aware why, I just don't think it's necessary when they are "not working" for a few days, it works both ways imho.

At least he's been left out, he can go out and get pissed of an evening now.
