Cristiano Ronaldo

I know most just want the best players, but that's not Pelligrini's way. He's a master at improving players abilities, so maybe we don't need to be spending 70 million on a player. Maybe a 20 million on sanchez at barca and Pelligrini's magic touch could make sanchez better than a bale, who we've got no chance of signing anyway......just can't see bale wanting a city move.

Looking forward to seeing Pelligrini turn Sinclair into Bale then :-D

Haha...he'll need a fairy god mother for that pal, but I do think he could get someone like Sinclair to be a key player in our team. They don't have to be world class to play a vital or useful role, similar to Adam Johnson who scored and help set up a good few goals.

The best players have rubbish games and still score, as Ronaldo did. Do you think Ronaldo plays crap every game? Of course not. But even when he doesn't play well he tends to score, as his former club found out.

Ronaldo at United would be a nightmare. He's the second best goal scorer on earth, how could anyone even entertain this being a good thing?

It would be a crushing blow to our chances of winning back the league any time soon and would put them right back into contention for Champions league success. I wouldn't say no to him at City, but I really can't see it so it would be best for us if he just stayed put in Madrid or went to PSG, flicking another two fingers up at FFP in the process.

Wathed Real Madrid v Ath Madrid last night. Ronaldo was anonymous

Wasn't overly impressed with his performances against City or Utd this season either

Over rated. Hope Utd waste £50m on him
Ronaldo was dreadful

But he did score again. That was his 55th goal of the season. Why anyone would want him added to the rags with that firepower is beyond me

Something amusing about the big game factor of players and how they're judged, as they're obviously the games most people watch. Wherever Ronaldo goes he all but guarantees 6 points against the whole bottom half of the table. Unfortunately for him there's a bloke in the direct opposition that all but guarantees 6 points against nearly all the table. But I've no doubt if anyone signed him in this league it would take a herculean effort to overcome what he would contribute, and he's got a good few seasons of that left in him.

I cant see Madrid selling him

1. He's their best player and has 199 goals in 201 appearances for them. How the fuck they going to replace that?

2. Madrid are already a significant distance behind Barcelona and losing him would instantly widen this gap.

3. Barcelona will be in transition and are therefore there to be got at. Madrid will need their best players around to do that.

4. He's 28 and realistically has 4 top seasons left in him. He's the 2nd best player in the world and in his peak years.

They'd be fucking bonkers to let him go.

Also with him being at his peak now and the commercial revenue he generates he'll be worth miles more than the 80m they paid for him.

Can't see it.

Ronaldo scored in 7-8 consecutive El Clasicos, more than other bloke did, he is top scorer in Champions League and scored in both, what looked as emotional games for him vs rags, and he scored last night too.

So, that "big games problem" is hardly something that can be used against him anymore though people will continue to do it as your post proves it.

He only has 2 years left on his contract so if they don't sell now they will get a fraction of the money they could get next year

Ronaldo won't leave. So where does Bale go. United probably. British manager, british player.

That means we have to get someone world class to compete. I know he is a twat but Suarez would take some stopping in our side. He would create havoc and give Kun and Silva space in which to work.

My post doesn't prove that at all, because that's not what I said and you've either misread it or only read what you wanted to so you could have a pop.

For a start, I didn't say big game problem, I said big game factor. Referring to the judgement of players based solely on the larger televised games and not the other 30 odd league games they play a season. Secondly I wasn't using this as a slight against Ronaldo, nor referring to his ability in the big games what so ever. My point was that even if he was poor in the big games, he'll still pretty much guarantee you 6 points against the bottom half of the table, which in itself is a hugely valuable attribute if you wish to win the league. It would still be daft to not be bothered if he rocked up at the Rags, as he'd still contribute more to them than anyone single man outside of the obvious could.
