Cristiano Ronaldo

Why wouldn’t he want him? As I said earlier, it’s all about winning the Champs League for Pep and Ronaldo improves that chance.
Not sure what we have to lose, we have saved a huge wage with Kun leaving.

People were creaming over the though of Messi arriving, claiming he would pay for himself and bring huge new sponsors to the club. I have my doubts that was true but if it was correct for Messi, does it not apply also to Ronaldo?

It's now 12 years since Ronaldo left the swamp to move to a bigger club so past associations don't bother me over much but it's true that he hasn't really changed and certain of his personality traits are just as off putting as ever. But I believe he got 40 odd goals in 31 league matches last season and that suggests that even at 36 he still has a great deal to offer on the football front. As for short term, medium term and long term it seems to me that 2 years is actually medium term in football since the talk is always of refreshing a squad to move into the third year. In City's case the Ronaldo deal - if there's any truth in what it may be - would leave us with sufficient to "go big" next summer. That's just my opinion and I suspect it doesn't count for much even to me. So, I'll trust Pep and those at City, as I always do. They won't do anything rash and they won't do anything daft.
I agree with all that, but I'm 50 /50 on him

Unless there's actual photos of him going in to have his medical in Manchester, I'm going to assume that there's no chance in hell this happens. Seems completely contradictory to everything about how our club's been run for thirteen years.

No idea mate, but he is a bit of an arrogant twat, doesn't seem like a Pep type, he likes team players who are quite humble. All about the collective with Pep. If Pep's in favour I think this gets done.

I said in another thread I'm quite content with our options for next season. A striker would be the icing on the cake.

I would love this to happen though. He's still world class, would bag loads and the Utd fans would be fuming. Can you imagine if we get him on a free. I think the Utd fans will explode hahaha.

On the plus side, bar taking the p*ss out of the Rags, there won't be any empty seats at the Etihad. That's another plus.

Can't wait for a shitload of tourists filling up the Etihad to cheer likkle CR7. Fuck that. Don't want that man anywhere near City.
