Criticism of Pep

Frustrating. Defended him all week on here.

City fans turned up and made noise as he asked, but then he tinkers with the side again and then says he's so, so happy with that performance.

And you don't think he'l rip a few players a new one behind closed doors? heck you seen him on the touchline. Hanging them out in public didn work well for mancini. Taking it all on himself saying it was all his fault did sod all for pellers. This has worked all of last two seasons. He's saying it for the cameras, i personally am ok reading between the lines.

And btw, the performance overall was dominant, give or take some farty finishing

Pep gets a free pass from me to do whatever he wants.
If he fucks up, so be it. The bigger picture is how he has changed us (and english football) forever.
He admits that he doesn't have all the answers, so tries different things to try and learn.
Pep doesn't love City (so doesn't feel the intense emotions of our derbies). Why would he? What he is doing is a fantastic job in a foreign country.

We as fans tend to just look one game at a time. He has to look at an entire season (and more).

Who he has managed is irrelevant. Nobody is beyond criticism. There are some bizarre comments though I agree

Criticism, all up for, we all do it, sometimes it is deserved. This decesion, that formation, said this or that, criticise your heart's delight.

However trying to use bits of criticism to paint a bleak pictute overall, and argue he isn't nir has ever been up to it, that is what my issue is with.

I think we are at a crossroads. A final 12 months is no good to anyone. Especially when we need to re invest in the squad. He genuinely looks tired of it all to me and in need of a good rest. If he doesn’t want to stay beyond next season I would give the transfer war chest to someone else and say thanks for everything pep it has been a blast.

Feels more like we are pushing towards a slippery slope than a crossroads for me.

And not on the pitch, with the team, or between players and manager!

Honestly the people having a pop at pep!
Every other team in the world apart from the dippers would take pep in a heartbeat
When he goes well have a top squad but I have no doubt standards will drop off big time.
Also attracting players will be tough as he is the big draw

The Rags went all out over the two legs as they knew their chances of winning something probably depended on it. On the other hand Pep took a gamble not playing our strongest side in either leg and it paid off. If Ferna and Laporte had played last night we could well have humiliated them again but we have other priorities. Overall, a job well done.
Think you can also add Mendy, Ederson to Laporte and Ferna, The biggest issue over the two legs was the finishing!! A lot of people have slammed Pep for his selection and tactics but if you look at the Stats and the games in General we should / could of scored double figures, our over all play is light years ahead of United.

Let’s all remember Bluemoon Forum is not a sample of the average City fan. There are so proper cranks and bores on here who want attention.
