Crystal Palace (H) | Post Match Thread

Amazing performance by Bernardo Silva.
He was the only City player to bother Palace in the first half but in the second he ripped the left side of the Palace defence to pieces.
Aided and abetted by Alvarez coming on it gave balance to City's attack and the Palace defence was ripped to shreads.
Good job, as the first half performance was terrible. Only Bernardo played well.
If only Bernardo had scored from the dribble past 4 Palace defenders - it would have been goal of the season.
The headlines will all be about Haaland but they should be about Bernardo and as a side note Alvarez is going to be some player.
Bernado MOTM for me.

Haaland absolutely amazing. Bernardo my MOTM. Gundogan and Alvarez both great.

But surely these last two games are proof enough for Pep to abandon Walker at CM. Stupid decision that made us too narrow against Newcastle and too narrow again today. As soon as Walker went wide again in the second half we ran like clockwork and went through the gears with ease. Hope he never bothers with it again.

Thought we missed Grealish in the first half - we always miss his ability to organise the rest of the lads by being patient - but by the end we were completely on top. That strange system Pep went for with Foden at LWB really seemed to do the trick. Fair play to Pep for changing it.

When it's going great, then Jesus is a good player, but games like today he would have given up head down walking about, as for sterling when he had a golden chance would miss or for Haaland hat trick goal fall over

look both Sterling and Jesus are good players BUT today you seen the next level that the elite have a world class striker
I agree with this, both Sterling and Jesus were fantastic players for us, but both had their limitations. Haaland seems like he is a level or two above as a goal scorer (the other two did a lot of things Haaland probably doesn’t as much, to be fair).

I thought it was telling that on the day Haaland got a hatttrick, Sterling needed a deflection to score his goal.

THE BOYS IN BLUE DIDN'T GIVE IN, THEY FOUGHT TO THE END. THANK YOU CITY, THANK YOU LADS, THANK YOU FANS. YOU SHOWED 'EM, YOU SHOWED 'EM ALL. THOSE SOUTHERNERS DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HIT THEM WHEN YOUNG ERLING FOUND HIS MOJO!!

I said he'd go from being Alfie's lad to having his name when he scored his hat trick. He's done it so he's Erling now.

I bet the match day thread was a sight to behold at half time. I deliberately stay away from it when I'm not at the game but when I looked on the BBC website I thought.... oh my goodness it will be exploding on the match day thread. *lol*
Eccles! When we were two down and pulled it back I was there thinking (once I'd calmed down) @Eccles Blue will be posting about the boys in blue fighting to the end! So good to see this post.

Well just got back from the game, I thought my Saturday night was ruined at half time, Bernado was fantastic throughout and I thought halland's 3rd goal showed we don't need to always pass it sideways we can play that quick through ball and he has the strength to go through and finish it

Stones improved massively in second half . He was more quick and won few tackles . Maybe dias is not 100% fit yet and rusty.
Credit to palace for making it tough by clogging the middle of the park which worked for first half but they had zero idea to deal with Alverz and mr whippy.

His performance today tops Haaland hat trick for me in a weirs way. Absolutely magnificent display from Alvarez he's going to be a massive hit with us fans i can feel it in my bones.
Not sure about topping Haaland today but agree with the rest, he is an exciting player and I really want to see more of him.
