Crystal Palace (H) | Post Match Thread

Palace Forum.
What did the rest of us do, go and support United?
Never ceases to amaze me that every single fan of "poorer" teams kid themselves on they would walk away if they were taken over!View attachment 54117
Crystal Palace, average attendance
Championship, before getting promoted: 15,000
Just after getting promoted: 24,000

W**kers.

Microscopic analysis of their disallowed goal is not required. The law is that an indirect free kick is awarded if a player:

"prevents the goalkeeper from releasing the ball from the hands or kicks or attempts to kick the ball when the goalkeeper is in the process of releasing it"

It's about the process and not where the ball is to the millimeter.

What the Palace player did is snide and contrary to the laws of the game.
Exactly.

It becomes a legal challenge when the ref is too far back to see it clearly, the linesman is only 10 yards away but his view is blocked by the offender and when VAR thinks it doesn't warrant a red card.
Had the Palace player fouled Cancelo, kept the ball in and crossed for a goal then it would probably have been disallowed by VAR for the foul.
Also the challenge on Cancelo looked like a sending off offence to me.

Not sure if this was by chance. In the 1st half when city were on the right flank trying to work an opening. Palace RB would come out to stop the move, then fall back, city tried again, this time a 2nd player would come out to stiffle the move and fall back, city went again and a 3rd player would take his turn at blocking the move. Giving the RB, time to recover.
It seemed deliberate to me and effective.
In the first half, the threat from our left side was non-existent, meaning Palace weren’t moved out of position and there were no spaces to exploit.

As soon as Foden went wide on the left, Palace had to defend wider, creating more spaces.

Cool. I have to admit it looks more and more like a red card every time I see it as there was no need for the attacker to swing his arm.
One of the limitations is that VAR can deem it a foul and yellow card offence (or even a goal kick rather than a corner) but no action is taken.

Yeah it's a weird framework. Like the Cucurella hair pull was definitely at least a yellow & a foul, but VAR deeming it not a red is the most they could do.

Ayew's elbow was raised above his shoulder with force into Cancelo's face - players have had reds for less and I'm surprised VAR would have not asked the ref to view it on the monitor at least

Ayew was " protecting the ball" thus the ball escaped unscathed Joao meanwhile had a sore mouth and cheek.

It's going to be scary how many goals this team will score if Haaland stays fit. Yesterday just highlighted his natural instinct as a goal scorer. Throw in his strength and speed and teams will have to put two defenders on him to try and keep him quiet. Leaving space for others. Exciting times lie ahead .

The celebration after their second was embarrassing. Hopefully their fans or another player will pull the wanker up on it. Watching too much NFL.

Who is this Dick
This guy is a complete idiot. Saying Harry Kane is the 2nd best #9 on the planet, behind only Benzema. That alone renders him completely not credible, never mind the rest of the rubbish he says. What's this clown saying today? A 1000% Moron!! He needs to find another line of work, like immediately...
