i have to say gentlemen that things aren't looking too good.

i was in Khimki today. the pitch is a total mess, an absolute swamp. it might very well not survive till late October.

CSKA have stadium Kuban in Krasnodar as their reserve option.

Why krasnodar? That's not remotely close to Moscow. Surely it would be moved to the Luzhniki

Luzhniki stadium is closed for good. all teams participating in CL/EL have to name the ground they will play at if their own can't be used for whatever reason. most probable reason in autumn would be obviously bad weather and subsequently unplayable pitch condition, so CSKA picked a stadium in the warmest part of the country. if Arena Khimki isn't able to hold the game, then it's Krasnodar.

the pitch today. yes, it's Corluka over there.

Re: CSKA Moscow v City (Wednesday 23 October)

So they have to decide for the Plzen game then thats the ground they have to use for the remaining games?

i don't know what's the procedure. CSKA are trying to preserve the pitch and have moved some of their home league games to Streltsov stadium in Moscow, but they're not the only tenants of Arena Khimki. it is also used by the youth national team and Dynamo Moscow.

So the minibus to the ground and back (900 miles away) for £20 is looking really good value now??? :-)

Re: CSKA Moscow v City (Wednesday 23 October)

A total disaster looms if the game is moved to Krasnodar.

The Streltsov, however, would be ideal. It's much closer to the centre of town than Arena Khimki and a few stops on the Metro from the Kremlin.

On the separate topic of visas, we found an agency to be absolutely on the ball. Simply go to www.realrussia.co.uk where they do all the hard work like obtaining letters of invitation and forwarding application forms on to the relevant authorities. There is also lots of other helpful advice on things like hotels, trips, etc. Whilst this comes at a higher cost than doing it yourself, it is very worthwhile.

There's no direct flight Tuesday morning from Manchester direct, are you going via somewhere?

I have 2 tickets in hand for CSKA Moscow v City in the City end for sale at face value £34 each if anyone is interested. Unfortunately I can't do this one. PM if interested.

Yes thought the same when I read that. Not for me to cast any assumptions but I bet some people bought these early thinking it would be another Plzen and easy point gains. Now they are getting fingers burnt.

Re: CSKA Moscow v City (Wednesday 23 October)

Of all the messing about to get this trip organised the thing that has pissed me off the most is having to pay £10.93 for a fucking postal order to pay for the visa. £10.93 is really daylight robbery !

Re: CSKA Moscow v City (Wednesday 23 October)

Three of us are on the Gatwick flight Tuesday morning, i couldn't be bothered with the messing around so went with realrussia.co.uk for my VISA as someone suggested in this thread - £125 inc delivery. Our hotel were charging £15 extra for the invitation letter, which was £10 through the agency.

Hardest bit has been trying to remember the countries i've visited in the last 10 years!

Think i will pay this agency,

What would the total be for myself to do it compared to the £125?

£50 visa, £27.40 admin charge, £9.80 to return the passport and then 12.5% to add on for your postal order

Re: CSKA Moscow v City (Wednesday 23 October)

I know it has been mentioned before but why can there not be an agreement in place similar to what they did in the Moscow Cup final. If you have a match ticket that is your Visa. Uefa really should be looking into this with the Russian government, it should be part of the agreement in place when Russian teams take part in the competition.

Is the 12.5% of the £9.80? Or the £77.60
