Anyone got any tips ? :)

Lol, Junior in the grand national! (just to piss off NF lol).

Mark, ive pulled you up on here before regarding your post on todays horse..

My own opinion is i wouldnt of come on here saying its the horse you said it could be,to be honest when i read that you said it could improve from 78 to 110 at the age of 9 was quite a remarklable statement..

Some racing folk on here may not know a lot about ratings & other aspects of racing so they do take your word as gospel,to the older generation who have been around horses and know the sport inside out some of what you say doesnt add up....

Its not a dig as the racing thread has always avoided some of the shit the other threads attract,i know nf knows a hell of a lot about racing & as been around it all his life so just pulled you up on it....

Anway do you think it could beat frankel over 7 furlongs?............:)

Fair enough. I have acknowledged to you that my statement regarding his rating was a bit sensationalist. Perhaps I was caught up in the moment, I did try and explain why.

I still maintain that he is at least a 90+ rated horse. I tried to point out that his problems came at the wrong time. He could have been beaten in his next race when fully fit and 92 might have been a bit high, I recognise that. However, he did win off 92 and he won well, everyone around him (sorry NF) felt he had more left in him if that season had another month to go.

Time will tell if he can be that force again, but as I've tried to point out, that decision will be made at the end of the season when he has raced under his optimum trip.

Anyone remember glencroft.... Won loads
Of races on the bounce in the early 90's but he was still a value bet
Its stable mate Chaplins Club was even better,i won shit loads off that horse when i was a kid..

It won 7 or 8 races in less than 3 weeks..

May even have won on the friday night and sat afternoon of the same weekend if i can remember,i know one of the chapman horses did it..

Timeless Times was another horse who won a shit load in a season, god that is going right back in the memory.

Good question,as it's probably the most open for years, with Moore,De Souza,Fallon,Hanagan and Hughes all clustered around about 4/1.
Would love to see Hanagan win it again, but Hughes will be there or thereabouts if Hannon's horses fire.
I think Moore and Fallon may be abroad too much to be in with a realistic shout, but De Souza has a bright future ahead of him.
Along with Buick,he is technically one of the best young jockeys I have seen lately.

-- Mon Apr 02, 2012 10:24 am --
