Dangerous Dogs

Hope he went down for that. There's a specific type of prick regularly attracted to these sorts of dogs.

There are only a few people who have studied this, but in the US in a 2006 study, they found that people who own 'high-risk' breeds (of which, the vast majority were pitbulls) were also significantly more likely to have all sorts of criminal convictions. They concluded in fact, that 'high risk' dog owners were 10 times more likely to have a criminal conviction than 'low-risk' dog owners. Owners of a high-risk dog had, on average, 5.9 criminal convictions or citations, compared to 0.6 for low-risk owners. While traffic violations were included in the study, they were also significantly more likely to have convictions for crimes related to aggression, drugs, alcohol, domestic violence and crimes against children.

In the words of the researchers, "Findings suggest that the ownership of a high-risk ("vicious") dog can be a significant marker for general deviance and should be an element considered when assessing risk for child endangerment."

It's a huge myth that Rottweilers are a dangerous dog to have around kids. They're literally recommended as a family pet
Tell that to the owners and the kids over here who have been ripped apart and killed by them. Too many incidents to mention. But here's the latest.

Sadly, there will always be outliers and the fact is that some dogs are simply not wired up right and some dog owners are twats. If Rottweilers are generally as bad as some claim then why are they recommended as a family pet by the Kennel Club?
Also, it was interesting reading that article and coming across another one where a vet states that a lot of the aggressiveness in larger dogs can be put down to bad breeding practices which in turn puts some large dogs in pain. Treat the pain and a lot of the aggressiveness can be eradicated

I made the point about in-breeding and pain pages ago but it was a bit of a guess

I'd be nervous if I saw someone like her trying to walk two dogs like that, she must weigh no more than 8 stone and seemingly has a high centre of gravity. No chance if those dogs decide to misbehave and every dog will do that at some point.
