I don't think it is. Did you see his goal in the the friendly? Fantastic pass and forward run for the return and then he chipped the keeper....
Hardly a long ball though was it? The only criticism that can be attributed to Kompany last season was that too often he just hoofed the ball up the pitch to no one.

But that's not our usual game so it doesn't really come into play that much.

No it wasn't but sometimes you need to hoof the ball. Personally I think Hart's distribution could be improved considerably. However he will not need to "hoof" the ball so much if he were in midfield.
But they weren't just hoofed clearances, just bad passes.

But once again, we don't play the long ball so I'm sure he won't do it as often this season so it doesn't matter. Moving him back to midfield would just be stupid.

The RAWK crowd got worried when a user named 'scott' posted this

WE want to sell him, if £20m comes in he's gone

They consider him a legit ITK. Good news if true. Going from Savic to Agger would be huge for us.

The funny thing is all the complaining about selling to their 'rivals'.

Re: Agger Bid

Lescott had the best tackling rate of any centre back in the league last year. Not to mention he held the defence together when Kompany was out, with fookin Savic next to him. All the while he received only 1 yellow all season and missed no games but for injuries.

I don't buy that Agger is more talented than Lescott. In fact the general consensus during the majority of the season was that Joleon was having a better year than big Vinny himself. For the past two years we've had the best defensive record in the league. Lescott and Kompany pulled their weight equally.

Agger is great for rotation and as a back up but I wouldn't break up the VK+JL partnership for anyone (except Thiago Silva, Chiellini, Vidic etc but they're all unnattainable)

I didn't say he couldn't hit the long ball did I?

You don't move one of the best defenders in the world to midfield.

No youre right, but I reckon Aguero could make a good right wing back. Have you seen his pace and determination in winning the ball back??

Re: Agger Bid

Not read every page, but with Mancini playing 3 at the back in most of pre-season, would it not be unthinkable for Agger to play with both Kompany and Lescott?

Re: Agger Bid

Agger is a quality player and if he signs for us will flourish.

Agreed, trouble is on here we sign a new player who is automatically elevated to the first team and we then have an argument whether Agger is better than Lescott because no one can see Kompany might need a rest during the season or get a suspension. If he signs we will have four quality centre backs who can all play in different positions if NEED be.

The determining factor as to who will play and when is down to Mancini.

Re: Agger Bid

Is this a legitimate bid for Agger or is it just speculation?

I dont know if its me but i think hes a better player than lescott. lescott is a good defender but to me he lacks that aggression you sometimes need to strike fear into a striker.

Agger is a tough bastard and a quality player.
