Danny Murphy's man of the match!

Yes he said because he's scoring record for city is not great is he really world class, yes dickhead he was in the Spain side that won European championships and a world cup is that not enough or do you also want to throw in his club achivments as well
Laughable, murphys not fit to pas comment on such a wonderful player.
Remember Phil Thompson saying " you won't win titles with B class players, I've never heard of them " yes ladies and gentlemen he was talking about David Silva & Ya Ya Toure ....jealousy is a strange emotion.

Then they dragged out Sterling and Sergio afterwards, both looked like one of them would get MOTM handed over and they then had to trundle back to the dressing room with nothing!

You would think we conceded 5 goals but we actually won 5-1 not to mention there were at least 3-4 more totally blatant penalty shouts. They created a couple of chances but we were never in any real danger, they were a decent side but we scored 4 more than they did.

All Shearer could say was if they play a better opposition defending like that they will get punished, he even said we would get punished playing better teams than Monaco the other week. That is the Monaco who have scored more goals than anyone in Europe!

They even cut Pep off in his interview, utter shambles. The only saving grace was Sinclair who tried to be positive but when you are in a room of idiots with agendas what can you do.

This is why Sergio never gets player of the year or anything, he had a great game, was everywhere, scored 2 goals but he lost MOTM to someone who compared to him had 1 shot and scored it.

I thought Billings won MOTM.

They love a plucky underdog do the BBC.

We're cast as the bad boys with too much foreign money, upsetting their rag heroes and riding roughshod over poor little honest clubs whose players still get the bus to the ground and live in a terraced house next door to the postman.

Fucking bellends all of them.

I thought he and Huddersfield were utter dogshit.

Genuinely could've been 10-1 and we still had our slippers on.

The gulf in class was fucking stark.

Aguero was MOTM by a mile. Did all the stuff he's known really well, for but also did the stuff that's usually beneath him very well to.

Thought Billing played very very well in the first half. Motm probably not, but who cares. We won rather easely and scored a handful again.

A tad aggressive in reply to my point there.
That's not what I said. Why not let the underdog have a bit of recognition in a game they were not expected to win and where one of their youngsters held his own against world class opposition?
Apologies, didn't mean to come across aggressive....I just think a man of the match award should be given to an outstanding individual performance in the game in question regardless of ability/level of opposition faced not a lad who makes a couple of decent passes in the 1st half and then gets substituted after 65ish minutes. Makes a mockery of the man of the match award that's all, not that it's that important in the grand scheme of things.

I reckon he either had a bet on him or the BBC wanted someway to portray Huddersfield as plucky losers by giving MOTM to one of their players.

To be fair, I think Murphy seen his athletic prowess before anybody else. The ECB have latched onto his performance on Wednesday night & have picked Billings to open the batting against West Indies today.....

I liked he gave it to the kid. 15 years ago had we been in their shoes and played a Chelsea, got turned over after playing a weakened side, and Michael Johnson had played well, if have applauded Murphy for giving him the recognition.
