Daunte Wright Killed by Minnesota Officer Following Traffic Stop

no.

I still had to justify every single time I used force. I arrested hundreds of people as a pc, was assaulted numerous times, had a colleague murdered and an officer I supervised shot.

There were 300 people shot in Chicago in March alone. Some people need to actually think what that means.

I've read absurd comments about removing guns from officers-police have actually stopped policing areas of Chicago following prev protests. that has worked well.

My honest belief is that people have no concept of criminality and the difficulty some people's criminal behaviour then places on the attending officers.

I have no problem with a transparent approach to investigating use of force-but 'murdering cunts', yeah ok.

Well the no guns for cops stuff is just fantasy and unworkable in a country with the amount of guns in public hands. I pointed out in another thread that the UK is one of the exceptions in having unarmed police.

It’s the amount of guns in public hands that is the problem. Fewer guns in public hands fewer stupid troopers getting scared and killing people.

Do you believe any police officer should ever be prosecuted for killing another human?
Quite a loaded question.

I believe a death in police contact should be investigated-it always is in this country, and I should imagine the same applies in the US.

Do you know in this country if somebody leaves custody and commits suicide days later its investigated fully as a death following police contact?

Do you know that if a prisoner cuts his hand in custody it is referred to the IOPC for a full investigation?

My point is the systems are in place-of course I can only speak of UK police, but its is incredibly transparent here and I handled many of them without fear or favour.

Do I think police should be prosecuted? I think when a death occurs there should always be an investigation-and there is.

You could've just answered 'no' and saved a lot of word soup.

I tried to say before it goes much deeper than the moment an officer confronts somebody. It is ridiculous to focus on that moment as an answer to a much wider problem.

Hundreds of shootings every month in Chicago?-that is crazy, its almost beyond comprehension. Its impossible to solve it by policing harder, softer..i certainly dont envy any of them who do it.

lol-I answered it from professional experience, not knee jerk.

If there is sufficient evidence to charge somebody with a crime they are liable to be prosecuted by the cps-thats how it works-so yes clearly if those tests are met.

What if there was a video of them doing it?

American society has accepted that, that's the price other people pay for them having the right to have guns and purchase them in walmart.

It’s not constitutional to arrest someone in Illinois for mere possession of a gun without checking that they have a registration first.

The cop was at fault though, he had the upper hand of training and an advantageous position but full of adrenaline from chasing the kid, he got frightened and squeezed too soon.
