Daunte Wright Killed by Minnesota Officer Following Traffic Stop

American society has accepted that, that's the price other people pay for them having the right to have guns and purchase them in walmart.

It’s not constitutional to arrest someone in Illinois for mere possession of a gun without checking that they have a registration first.

The cop was at fault though, he had the upper hand of training and an advantageous position but full of adrenaline from chasing the kid, he got frightened and squeezed too soon.
and if he squeezes too late? he could be killed. I'm sorry but that youth put himself and that officer in that position.

horrific for everyone involved but its not on the officer. imagine what was going through his mind as he gave chase? ordinary members of the public can run the other way.

So why ask him to turn around?

Point the gun at him and keep him facing forwards and then assert control of the situation.

It’s easier to shoot first and ask questions later though.

all the police experts need to watch this and listen to this whiny piece of shit.

this may be an extreme example-but the lying, trying to avoid arrest, whinging-all commonplace in stops. he knew the whole time he had a gun under his seat.

he had less than a second..just pointing is too late if he swings round and shoots. I'm sorry but that is the harsh reality.

waiting for the commnets to say the officer was a 'murderer

yeah there’s a big difference to chasing a man you know is armed down a dark street to sitting behind a keyboard telling him what he should’ve done

If the cop is pointing the gun at the suspect and he makes a sudden movement and disobeys directions to stay still and facing forwards the officer still has the upper hand to shoot first.

If he doesn't have time he shouldn't tell the suspect to turn around.

It’s lead to two of them being charged and another potential charge.

You‘re jumping through hoops to defend these people when they are going on trial for murder/manslaughter.
I'm trying to present the reality-its a thankless task in this country a lot of the time. I can't imagine having to constantly think somebody I'm dealing with is armed.

You know, how about people abide by the law, comply with simple instructions, and nobody gets hurt.

Absolutely and the vast majority of police stops end without fatality.

The two in court seem clear cut murder/maslaughter.
