I'd have been disappointed if he'd been announced as our next manager, put it that way.

and should the truth be known that's exactly how rags are feeling right now.

wont admit it of course but that's what they are thinking. wobetide him if he hasn't got a pen by ten past 3 on the first week end.

They were expecting Mourinho or Pep and they wound up with Moyes. That's gotta hurt. It's going to be fun to see how this plays out. I just can't see David Moyes emulating Ferguson's acheivements and when it all goes tits up, the rags are going to turn very nasty indeed.
They keep bullshitting themselves and anyone else who is fool enough to believe them about never disrespecting "the shirts" - but the truth is that no set of supporters round on a scapegoat as venomously as the rags do.
There'll be tears before bedtime.
Much as it pains me to defend united fans I think that Arsenal and Spurs fans are worse for that.

I'm happy to stand corrected but the last united player I remember getting roundly booed was Alan Brazil which was nearly thirty years ago.

They've swapped one Scottish miserablist for another. Moyes hasn't supped quiet as much fruit of the vine as his predecessor, so we'll be able to make out perhaps one word in three in his post match interviews, as opposed to the Govan throat singing we endured under Slur Alex.

There was a time when Ryan Giggs was booed by them...earlyish 2000s I think. There were rumours Bolton were in for him and he was seen as past it. Certainly wasn't the whole crowd but was noticeable all the same. They weren't enjoying life at the time as José's Chelsea were bossing them

I'll bow to your superior knowledge on the subject ;-)

I think he has done a very good job at Everton. They were a team who always looked like getting relegated when he arrived but has turned them in to a regular top 7 team on a relatively low budget. He seems to get the most out of his players and always got the better of Mancini. I think he is a fairly similar manager to Alex ferguson in the way he manages his players but it will be very interesting to see how he handles the pressure of managing a club like united.

For the record I don't like David Moyes. His constant whining when we signed lescott was very annoying. He comes across as an absolute prick like ferguson and I hope his new reign is one of total mediocrity.

Rooney & Evans, recently.
No set of fans are immune to it but only one crowd claim to be above it. Obviously, you'll hear less of it when things are going well - and, let's face it, those f**kers have been spoilt under Ferguson (who got it in spades off them too).
I'm old enough to remember Birtles, Donaghy, Davenport, Stapleton & Stepney get an earful.
Moyes isn't the man to bring them on and deep down they know it. Mark my words, they'll be letting him know it too.
