They were expecting Mourinho or Pep and they wound up with Moyes. That's gotta hurt. It's going to be fun to see how this plays out. I just can't see David Moyes emulating Ferguson's acheivements and when it all goes tits up, the rags are going to turn very nasty indeed.
They keep bullshitting themselves and anyone else who is fool enough to believe them about never disrespecting "the shirts" - but the truth is that no set of supporters round on a scapegoat as venomously as the rags do.
There'll be tears before bedtime.
Much as it pains me to defend united fans I think that Arsenal and Spurs fans are worse for that.

I'm Alan Brazil which was nearly thirty years ago.

Rooney & Evans, recently.
No set of fans are immune to it but only one crowd claim to be above it. Obviously, you'll hear less of it when things are going well - and, let's face it, those f**kers have been spoilt under Ferguson (who got it in spades off them too).
I'm old enough to remember Birtles, Donaghy, Davenport, Stapleton & Stepney get an earful.
Moyes isn't the man to bring them on and deep down they know it. Mark my words, they'll be letting him know it too.
Fair comment about Rooney I'd forgotten that, although it wasn't for footballing reasons. In the interests of balance Mario got the same treatment v Watford in the Cup last season because he was angling for a move.

You are correct with the players you named tbf (although I don't remember Mal Donaghy getting a hard time). Paddy Roach did too iirc.

You do make a good point about their claims of being above it. They have not had much too boo about in the last 20 years, but it will be interesting to see how they respond to a bit of adversity, especially if we're doing well.

If they do start getting frustrated it surely will be a beautiful thing to behold.

Liverpool said they dont boo their own or change managers like other clubs...

I think there is a bit of wishful thinking on here. Any shortcomings Moyes may initially have will be offset by the likes of Van Persie,Rooney etc bailing him out. While he's no Ferguson the rags won't be going anywhere. We unforgivably let them back last season when we could have buried them. I still get pissed thinking about the ineptness of the powers that be this time last year. Then you have the ludicrous FFPR helping them out. Nobody would like to see their demise more than me but it's not happening anytime soon.

Strong whisper that mr moyes has asked the premier leauge to include his 25 yard swimming certificate on to his c.v. on his achievements in sport. !

I agree, the 'Moyes effect' won't be seen until he needs to start replacing players. They wom the league by about 15points, it'll be very difficult to claw that back never mind them finishing outside the top 4 next season. City, Utd and Chelsea will be the top 3 next year, not sure which order but they'll defo be up there

We're in for at best a decade of 'it'll be unit*tds season next year' just like the dippers in the 90s. Should Moyes actually win anything he will be hailed as a cross between pele and GPC. Tick-tock, but it might take a while.

Have to disagree. The rags played out of their skins last season and they only ended up the usual free points they normally get ahead of us. El bacon has gone and more importantly Moyes has sacked Meulensteen who was the power behind the thrown. Old man Giggs and the chuckle brother have no experience of top tier management/coaching. Scholes has gone so Davey can't go running to him like bacon did, they desperately need to sort out defence and midfield. They will still get some of the free points under Moyes but it will only be enough to keep them ahead of the Arse and Spuds. Titles between City and Chelsea with rags third.

They will give him a season. Lets say they finish out of the Top4. Moyes will be sacked. It is not the same as 25 years a go when the board gave Fergie a few seasons to win something. The impact alone of the riches Champions League Football will have him walking

Right, this is going to hurt me typing this...

Moyes is a very good manager as proven at Everton where he got them essentially punching above their weight considering the budget and the chairman he had to work with. He consistently finished high up the table and got them to 4th one season.

At the rags, he has a bigger platform and it is set up for success coming on the back of a title win and qualification for Champions League. He has better quality players to work with than he did at Everton and it would be foolish to expect a sudden implosion and relegation battle.

He will have his work cut out applying his methods given the longevity of the GPC, so it is something their lot will not be used to. That said, I don't think it will make a blind bit of difference and they will carry on finishing top 4, winning trophies and qualifying for the Champs League. What trophies they will be remains to be seen, but they are not going away anytime soon.

I feel dirty now and apologise to everyone.

Yep but he is not BaconChops! Take for instance the derby at our place at 2-2 all he put Welbeck on he harassed Clichy that led to the free kick Moyse would take a striker off and try to hold on its his mentality BaconChops always goes the the attacking route
