David Silva - 2016/17 performances

He is irreplaceable because nobody has his touch and vision. For me he is in the same bracket as Iniesta. One of the greatest midfielders to play the game and he chose to play for us. What a match made in heaven. Long may it continue.

He's a tidy player who I wouldn't mind us signing in the future but he wasn't the best player on the pitch and he certainly wasn't the best by a mile. As soon as we got on top he disappeared with the rest of their team.

Best player on the pitch. Best player ever to don the sky blue shirt.

Sane & Silva link is simply beautiful to watch at the moment.

That chipped pass at the end....he only passes it sideways I was also told.

We may have found a candidate to be his longer term replacement last night with B Silva. He needs watching by City...maybe we already are ;)....

Both Silva and Silva were great last night and I would take Silva to be Silva's successor definitely. Similar type of play between them two.

Was excellent again last night although think everyone talking about him being irreplaceable are getting a bit carried away! :)

Bernado Silva was also excellent and showed similar qualities to David. Think long term replacing him won't be as much of a headache as people might imagine because he plays a very specific role within the team which someone like Thiago could step into and perform with similar qualities.

None of that should take away from his brilliance though since Pep's gone back to 433 with him and KDB in the middle. Currently is there a better midfield two than him and KDB? Not sure that there is in Europe. Maybe Verrati/Rabiot. Happy days.
 
Going forward he was good, but along with KDB, defensively they were both shocking.
They didn't pick up the runners as Monaco began to move the ball forward.

I wouldn't sweat it mate, if you read the thread, the overwhelming majority recognise just how good he is, and his worth to the team. It's just a recurring theme on here at the minute, some people just have to have a moan about something.

If you have ever played football at any level, you simply know how good he is. Sit in your fucking armchair with a beer, and it's all so simple. Fuck, you don't even need to have played football, what am I on about. I despair at the way some of our 'fans' have gone.

@Bluwhit I hope he really, truly understands how much he means to us.

World class in my opinion and in the middle of one of his best ever seasons. His pass to Aguero was just sublime. His fighting qualities and determination to defend are a testament to his character. He's a different player now, but in a very real way still the same as ever.

Been our best player this season. He's been breathtaking! In some recent games he's been shut-your-eyes-shake-your-head good
 
The deep role has made him an unreal player, even enhancing his attacking game as he can burst in from deeper rather than be picked up fast.

It's murdering teams.

What a player.
