The one-touch passing in the second half on the edge of their box that resulted in Jesus nearly scoring was class and he started it off.

I agree. I love Dave nearly as much as my kids but I want to see him influencing the game from the bench now, Bernie would have ripped Villa apart today with that amount of ball.

David is a rhythm player. That is his opinion.

So to get the best out of him he has always had to play regularly as a starter, never has been a bench player. His influence off the bench would be useful in situations where we need to keep the ball better but that is it. Not likely to have an impact.

Whether he should be starting is a matter of opinion of course.

Would be interesting to know the number of David's assists to the assist for Sergio's goals. Feels like that might be even more impressive.

Think thats accurate comment.
Against Napoli away a few years ago (champs league)he came on as sub..we had played a breath taking lightning quick counter attack game...City looked superb....but Silvas ball retention skills were a welcome addition as the home team upped the ante towards the end.

Compare with Spurs at home this season,came on as sub and was virtually ineffective.

Sundays performance by the whole team was ,in parts sublime.I was so proud watching my team play football with such classy precision...and Silva oozed class.The old Silva- Augero axis of Evil was back,in full swing.Brilliant.

Didn't to the business today and were rightfully substituted at the 60 mark. Looked really off pace with some sloppy passes. Bernardo have looked much better at this role in recent weeks, Bernardo also doesn't work at RW this season for whatever reason

Love him but he should really not be a starter. His legs are done and it’s a liability in the mid.

With an our of form Sterling, its hard to envision a starting 11 with Dave. I suppose a 4231 with Dave sitting next to Rodri in the holding role ( Best for Bernado) and having Foden, Kev Mahrez and Jesus ahead of him will work.

But that's about it for me. I

I thought he was really good in the first 20 mins but then faded badly. He isn’t the force he once was and to be honest if he is leaving you think it would make more sense to start playing him a bit less and the likes of Foden a bit more.

I'd like to remember him as he was, not as he is, when you pray he's not in the starting XI. It's painful to watch him these days and he doesn't even look like his heart is in it.

Was just going to say the same.
There is a role for David but Pep has to understand why that is

Foden gets what , 3 games in total and we are nearly in February and David gets back to back games in a season where he is getting left behind.
Difficult to fathom , becoming more than annoying and just plainly wrong.What concerns me more then anything is what happens next season.

I’m sorry but forget nostalgia, it’s all about the here and now.

Getting bored of saying this now but use him sparingly Pep and do not compromise the legacy of our greatest player.

Pep’s loyalty to Silva is now effecting next season .
