David Silva retires from football (pg13)

The fact that he was such a big blow to Sociedad and their chances of qualifying for CL at THIRTY-SEVEN years old(young) says it all, doesn't it?

What a fucking player.

Did he ever have a bad game? There were times when the team played shit, mainly towards Bobby Manc and Manuel end of days but, El Mago was just constant. It's easy to look back with rose tinted specs for anything but, I just can't recall him not turning up.

Debut v Spurs away he looked like a fish out of water.

The rest is history…

Merlin says he misses playing for City, and regards us as "his club":

“Maybe one day I will become a coach, “ said David Silva. “But not just yet. Right now I’m enjoying the break and focusing on the wine.”

You deserve it, mate!

What a shame he suffered such a bad injury. He was arguably Sociedad's best player last season and they're having a great year despite losing him.
