David Silva

Skipped past players like they weren't there today, although his passing was a bit hit and miss.

There was a bit in the first half when all the Spanish speaking players seemed to keep it themselves and just sliced through Fulham. Silva was always at the centre of things.

Was fantastic today.

His passing is still a little off his magnificent best but his movement, interplay in and around the box and defensive work!! was awesome.

I had a dream about Silva the other day, so I'm glad he didn't let it go to his head today. It puts a massive smile on my face to see him at his best, let's hope he keeps it up. I just wish he'd wear the same goalscoring boots he wears for the national side.

Superb today, with a superb tackle while covering a Fulham break away in the 1st half thrown in for good measure.

Silva is back...

The most noticeable difference in yesterday's performance for me was David Silva.
His energy and mobility is back. He competed all over the pitch and his range of passing was magnificent.
I think he has got his fitness back and looks like the player he was at the start of last year's campaign.
It may be that he feels more settled having signed a new contract or just he has recovered from the non stop summer with the Euros. Either way he is clearly back to his best. I have to confess worrying about his performances of late, but after yesterday I cannot wait to see him in full flow against Dortmund.

Couldnt have posted this in the Silva thread?
I didn't know you was a mod

He is not but he makes a very good point, it's annoying to other users when people continually start new threads when there are already perfectly good threads on the first two pages, it also creates work for the mod team who have to merge them

What's happened to David Silva?

He's one of those untouchables that people like to ignore, but he holds much of the weight for why we looked lost attacking-wise today.

Nasri coming on for him was totally warranted.

He played a few nice passes that one to Negredo which he missed was brilliant. He is wasted out wide though he plays his best behind the strikers through the middle.

I think he's been a bit unlucky more than anything else. Pellegrini has (rightfully) put him in that playmaker role, giving him responsibility to get in the hole and make passes. Silva has done it, but for the last two matches the passes just keep hitting defenders. We know he has the skill to pass the ball, but in a game of inches he's been unlucky thus far. We're probably not far from 2 or 3 of these splitting passes making it through in a match.

Spot on, looked disinterested, nasri has looked up for it in his few cameos and I'd rotate in the next game!!

Not as his best, however to be fair to him he wasn't getting any help from players finding space and making runs for him to pass to.
