David Silva

I thought everyone knew by now he's been playing through pain all season and will apparently have an op to try and correct this at the end of this season. Hopefully it goes smoothly for him and he comes back happy, rested and refreshed in City colours next season. :)

I can't believe how fast people have turned on him after all the joy he's given us, still one of our best players when off form IMO which shows his class.

No, you're missing the point.
Nobody's turned on him, but his loss of form is a major concern. and next season, he'll be 31. That doesn't mean he's finished, but equally, the team is more important than any individual. I keep reading about his class, but all the evidence is from previous seasons.
Spain are in the Euros, so when exactly is he going to have this rest and recuperation?

Just don't talk about Merlin in that way on here, he's the best we've ever had along with King Colin. Respect is required not reminders about how old he'll be in two years time.

Not sure why you think I’m disrespecting him George. Silva’s been a great asset, but time waits for no man, and we can’t afford to just sit back and hope that one of our players suddenly rediscovers his deftness of touch. It’s the same complacency that’s seen Leicester and Tottenham overtake us, when everybody assumed that we'd accelerate after Christmas..

Beckham was never the same player for United after he broke his metatarsal in 2002. He was only 26, but Baconface recognised immediately that he’d lost some pace and agility. I expect Guardiola to show the same clinical vision next season, so Silva will either improve or be shipped out.

That's RAWKish mate I'm afraid and we dont work like that on here.

No, on here we turn on one of our best ever players after one poor season. Much better way to go about things.

We turn on everybody at some point, including the manager yes, but if you do that, you cant pick and choose.

As long as its not overly disrespectful and doesn't break forum rules, its up for discussion.

Silva not been at his best this season but I don't think he's anywhere near being shipped out though! And to be fair he's been played out of position most of the season but he has to accept that kdb is now the best 10 at the club! I think a move into a midfield 3 next season will help him

Course I can pick and choose. Somebody who has given his all and provided more magical moments than most in the last 5 years will get more respect from me than somebody who's been here three years and not been great for close to two of them.

shipping him out after one poor season would be, frankly, stupid as well as disrespectful.

If we can get him back to 3/4 of his pomp he'll be a wonderful asset to the squad next season (and he will not necessarily be 1st choice under Pep). top player, dont know why people want to get rid.
