How much would he go for? I reckon he'd be top quality for another 2 years at least, and with tevez's wages freed up he could easily be afforded. GET HIM IN!!!

10-12m was reported in January when Arsenal were looking at him.

What you reckon then? I think it would be money well spent, we could use the cash we get for Tevez. What I really like about Villa is you can see the hunger he has inside spilling over in every game he plays. He wants to do his very best every time, and if he doesn't he is angry with himself. These are the typre of players we need at the club. It annoys me though, because I don't even think we are in for him.

For that money yes, but I would hope for a return of 20 goals + in all competitions.

It's asking a lot I know...

I just think it is paramount we have two strikers who reach the 20-30+ goal mark next season, especially if we want to be fighting on all fronts like Khaldoon said.

The Champions League will be a target from now on and we need to be as clinical as possible.

Cavani vs Villa... Villa is more reliable and experienced. But many rate Cavani higher even though he doesn't perform with Uruguay. People forget the work of Napoli's players like Cavani. No doubting he's good though after scoring hat-tricks against the likes of Inter and Roma but its so much more worth it to get a proven striker.

Tonight I'm watching Cavani one last time. So far I'm not too impressed. Probably worth 25 million max. Kun Aguero is better and younger...

EDIT: Someone mentioned Villa is always offside... Cavani two offsides so far lol.

I think Villa could give us a great few years service and Silva/Villa have had a great understanding since their Valencia days together.

If we're looking to spunk monster wages on old players, I'd rather we sign Ibra to bully defenders. But in reality, the money would be much better invested in someone younger like Jovetic. Villa is half the player he was 2 years ago despite some good performances for Spain. £130,000/week is the minimum for his wages as that's what he's on at Barca, and he is almost 32.

At Villa's age, why not just offer Tevez a contract on lower wages?

1. Villa is a better finisher.
2. Tevez showed signs last season that his pace is going, he wasn't finding it as easy to get away from defenders. Villa's game doesn't rely on pace.
3. Villa and Silva have an instinctive partnership on the pitch from their Valencia days. You can still see it when they play together for Spain.

If the wages could be agreed Villa would be a great short-term buy IMO.
