DC United staff member sacked for making hand gesture

I grew up in the 1970s, so suggesting nothing of the sort.

The suggestion is that this guy was sacked for making a gesture, which is now commonly used by racists in the US, and I said I hoped context was taken into account, i.e. he was only sacked if he did it intentionally.

What that has to do with growing up in the 70s in Britain I don't know - but it seems an odd connection to particularly as 70s Britain is seen as a low point in terms of racism in the UK.

I referred to the 1970’s specifically because there wasn’t any of this shit about then, I’m glad I was brought up then, that’s the connection I made… if you don’t agree, I really couldn’t give any less of a fuck..! People like you are part of the problem these days as far as I’m concerned …… Don’t bother to reply as we will never see eye to eye and I’m fine with that …!!

Getting all offended by some guy being sacked for being racist in another country just seems a bit snowflakey to me.

We wouldn't have put up with that in the '70s ;)
