De Bruyne?

maybe de Bruyne actually isn't dead set on joining City? like, it's definitely better than staying at Wolfsburg, but he personally would rather like to go to, say, Bayern and therefore isn't opposed to waiting until an opportunity emerges? honestly, don't think one can bash this train of thought. but if he decides City is a fine way to go, he's in for a pleasant surprize, i bet.

i'm staying calm.

@City_Chief: Guardian: City believe a third bid, between £50m-£55m, will be accepted by Wolfsburg & seal De Bruyne's deal. #WOB #MCFC #Transfernews

Because the argument makes no sense. If they don't want to sell then don't sell. If they do want to sell then sell now. There is no point agreeing to a sale and then picking the player. What have they to gain? There is no need for brinkmanship anymore and they will be selecting a player who's mind is all over the shop and possibly couldn't give a fuck.

It's like making someone redundant and then expecting them to work their gardening leave. There's no point.

Logically, if he does play, a fee has not been agreed.
You may think it makes no sense. I think it does. It's already been pointed out that there are several examples of other players signing on two or three days after playing a match.

We will have to watch him play to see if his head's all over the place won't we.

Sorry, The first half of your comment is bollocks. Barcelona's defence is fantastic, the names they have in there might not be the most exciting, but their defence is right up there. They conceded 10 goals in the entire champions league winning run - we conceded 8 in the groups alone to put that in perspective.

Not to mention they bought a right back this summer, so they did strengthen it.

Then you talk about Bayern not strengthening for depth. Depth is not their problem and never has been, their bench is fucking insane. A country mile better than us. The problem is injuries to key players. So they bought Douglas Costa who has been their best player so far and a complete revaluation, and replaced the perma-crocked Schweinsteiger with Vidal, who's only had 1 injury in his career. Strengthening their depth is exactly what they did.

Now for the second part, yes I agree completely.

People are whining about our left back position because Kolarov is seen as weak defensively, well we've kept 6 clean sheets in the last 8 games he's played in.

Our Centre backs were a mess and we bought one of the best in the world, and fixed the problem internally by getting Mangala and Kompany to play together.

And Sterling has added every single thing we lacked in attack. Pace, dribbling at players, and tireless energy.

Yaya suffered from fatigue, so we bought Delph to take over some of his running and to also give him a rest at the end of games so he only plays 75 mins instead of 90. Is he a direct replacements? No, because there isn't a single player in world football who can replace what Yaya does for us.

We didn't get enough goals from midfield so we are buying De Bruyne, who on top of being an assist machine, will chip in 10-15 a season as well.

If anyone thinks we haven't addressed our weaknesses then they are completely blind and not worth talking to.

Lastly, your last sentence is probably your best point. People are desperate to see Fernando go, and criticise the club for keeping him around. 2 month ago people would say the same about Mangala. We bought a fantastic defensive midfielder who had everything we need in midfield. He didn't just disappear, and Pellegrini and co obviously think he will come good and deliver on it. With all the good transfer business and beautiful football we are playing you'd think people would put some bloody faith in the management To know what they are doing.

i think the reason our cb were poor last year was they were getting no protection from ferns and yaya.

although everyone had great games against wba and chelsea i though it was fern and yaya`s defencive work that allowed that

All this will he play or won't he play is nonsense and has no bearing whatsoever on whether the transfer goes through or not.

He is currently an employee of Wolfsburg so as things stand is available for selection.

I wouldn't read too much into it as he is still a Wolfsburg player....for now that is.
