De Bruyne?

A treat to watch, miles better than so-called ball retainer and will surpass Silva in one or two years time.

he has 9 goals and 17 assist on the league ONLY in 27 games...so he has his contribution to 26 goals this season in the league(without taking in the equation EL or german cup...why the fuck some wouldn't want him here is a mistery..

Dzeko won the league with his team in Germany and was the top scorer for two seasons in a row, and now some of us wanted him sold because they think that he is not good enough.

Just for one season - but second in the other. But so was Gomez. Strikers are something different...

At providers you only have to ask if they fit the system. Bayern can ask that with their absolute possession system - if there can be a role for him. But you do not play that in this way.

Both players have strengths and weaknesses and like Dzeko I think De Bruyne will get shit from our supporters because he does have a lot of weaknesses and stats don't tell you everything. if you actually watch him play on a few occasions you would see that he will only be a squad player.

De Bruyne is not a special player in the Iniesta or Yaya mould but he is a hardworking / energetic player who makes things happen. Together with a Koke or Pogba he would bring a big improvement to our current lethargic midfield.

You can't compare the quality of the Bundesliga 5 years ago with today. The overall quality of all teams is on a different level, the Wolfsburg team that won the league back then wouldn't make the top 4 today. It's no coincidence that only one German team made it out of the CL group stages when Wolfsburg won the league (Bayern and they got embarrassed by Barca soon after), while 4 German teams made it out of the group stages for 2 seasons in a row now.

The Bundesliga collapsed in 2002, when the tv deals fell apart, hit an incredible low and needed to rebuild. Since around 2006/07 there were clear improvements visible, but it still needed to time to turn it into actual quality. You can see the positive financial development if you look at the overall revenue of the league over the years and the quality of the teams if you look at UEFA's 5 year ranking. For years Germany was in 5th place during the last decade, even behind France, and at times in danger of dropping even deeper.

So a player who excels today in the Bundesliga the way De Bruyne does is a lot more proven on an overall scale as Dzeko was between 2008-10. Add to it that De Bruyne easily outperforms Hazard for the nationalteam and you have a pretty good picture what his performances are worth.

Talking sense? And backing up opinions with fact? People don't take kindly to book larning round here!

The idle fucker isn`t good enough and should be sold.Way past his sell by date. He`s been a very good servant for our club but we need to move on.Spends most of his time either looking down at the grass or his boots.

I think that is a fair comment. A good player but not a great one.

Kicker: Wolfsburg will not negotiate any deal worth less than £36.5m for priority City target Kevin De Bruyne (23).

De Bruyne has 17 Bundesliga assists (#1 in top 5 Euro leagues) + 26 overall assists (#1 in Europe) for Wolfsburg + 14 goals. Value shot up.

Can't do worse than that shite we saw today

its 50m euro. Pay it, stop haggling, and get the player(s) in.

Agreed. He's worth that at his age and with his peak still ahead. It's not really that expensive for promising talent.

I don't know if he is worth it or not. Considering the biggest transfer from a German club was Gotze at 37m euro (or around that), its over priced.

But the point is, we need quality players now and if we have to over pay by 5-10m euro/pounds than we should do that rather than losing that player to a rival

Not far off half what United paid for Di Maria, who had a bigger reputation but not sure he is as good as KDB at this point. Just do the deal if we have a lot to spend or someone else will if he leaves Wolfsburg. I watch KDB regularly and he is NOT a flawless player but is a damn exciting player who will look for ways to make things happen.

With Reus and Bale not on the market, we should be trying to sign KDB and either Sterling or Depay, probably Sterling for the homegrown quota (but double the cost). We are a stale team and all phases of our midfield need changing where the real problem is (defence would be OK if we had more legs in the midfield and runners tracking back).

I would be happy with Sterling and KDB. playing either side of Silva (who in turn plays in a deeper role).

Sterling has weaknesses. He doesn't have composure and his finishing is poor, and his vision and passing may not be top class. But his close control at pace is something we have needed for a long time, and his off the ball movement is very good. He gets into very good positions, if he can work on his weaknesses he can become a top top player.

KDB's isn't the most accurate with his passes, but looking at Di Maria's stats he is not far off and his drive, directness, set piece proficiency is something that would probably affect the result more than say Nasri's ball retention. His crossing is a bonus too (and the fact the he isn't the quickest means he will have someone in the box to cross the bal to (tongue in cheek)) as long as we have people in the box.

Their wages would also be probably less than the players they should replace (Dzeko and Nasri -> shift to 433). Sterling maybe overpriced at 50M (hopefully that figure will include sizeable add ons), but even adding De Bruyne's fee takes the total to 87M pounds, which is still less than half of the supposed 200M we can spend.

These two are very attainable targets and we should tie these deals up as quickly as possible before moving on to CM which will be much harder.
Koke and Pogba who should be our top 2 CM targets, those will be difficult to obtain even if we have the funds.

I've watched him 3 times this season and can assure everyone he'd walk into our first 11.

He's very very good.

I'd be offering them Dzeko + a fee.

Win wins all round.
