There is a plus in all this...when was the last time City had an exciting transfer deadline day?
Didn't Pellers call all this speculation a rumour?
If De Bruyne isn't arsed/wants to stay at WOB, like some say, why has he turned down two contract offers? His only fault here is being too nice and not confrontational enough to make this hostile. He has told them privately and politely he would like to move, but it hasn't really sped it up. Perhaps he will become more aggressive in the last 7 days.
Also, it's OK to name players like Griezmann and Bale and how much they might cost, but a player could have a 20p release clause and it means nothing if they don't want to move. Chelsea already tried for Griezmann and United seem to have harassed Madrid constantly for Bale. Same applies for Isco.
Pellegrini is a huge loss to the diplomatic service.Didn't Pellers call all this speculation a rumour?
Spot on.
Some people are expecting the Sterling saga to become the norm when in fact that was a unique situation caused by Liverpool using the press to slander him.
Aside from the awards ceremony stunt which all parties were angered with, I've seen nothing to suggest that Wolfsburg have bad mouthed him. Therefore, why should he treat them with total disrespect?
When transfers like this occur, silence is golden IMO. In the past we have quickly seen players quash rumours about them leaving and commit their future by signing new deals. KDB has had plenty of chances to do this and refused to. Everything about this deal suggests that KDB wants to come.
Its all down to us to agree a deal with Wolfsburg.
Also, the longer in drags on the more dangerous it gets for Wolfsburg. I wouldn't put it past Txiki to match their valuation on deadline day and KDB force through the move. At the moment though, it seems all camps are trying to keep it amicable.
We're obviously looking at a player in KDB. The club obviously feel he would supplement if not greatly enhance what we already have. However, if it doesn't look like its going to happen, then will we turn our attention to a likeminded player of similar standard so late in the day? The fact is the clock is ticking and we have (what?) 7 days left. If we can't get a big name player over the line in 2 3/4 months (admittedly from a stubborn seller), what chance of a different option of a similar standard being available in that final week?
(In addition, if we can't get KDB, why don't we formally extract ourselves from the situation and keep hold of the money for January or next summer?)
