De Bruyne?

Sign older players with proven quality - Should be signing younger players with potential

Sign cheap potential - Should be signing proven quality regardless of cost.

Signing proven quality regardless of cost - We spent too much, the rags in the pub are going to take the piss.

Haha. Very good and very true.

Personally I've come to terms with the fact that clearly Abu Dhabi want the best value they can get both for outgoing players and incoming players. It's clear from Pellegrini's comments too that we aren't arsed about when deals get done between now and Sept 1st - which also means that the technical staff feel comfortable enough with the players we already have for the first 4 games of the season.

I realise that it's frustrating but I think the ownership are entitled to deal with things in this manner. They've been battered for overspending, yet every time they go to buy a player they get quoted outlandish prices and every time they try and sell a player the buying club wants to pay with peanuts in instalments.

Yeah Billy, that's fair enough. I understand what you're saying, and agree with a lot of it. Pellegrini's comments about signing the right players are interesting, too.

However, as you know, it just irritates me when I get told how 'complicated' these deals are, and that my expectations are too high. I remember you saying that you expected all our business to be done last Friday, so I assume you're a little surprised too. I've posted enough times a list of transfers that probably had similar complications but were completed by now, so I am not entirely buying the 'these deals take time' argument.

Again, I agree with a lot of what you say, and that it must be a direction set from Abu Dhabi. But I stand by what I have said.

Further, I think Khaldoon's comments probably made people a little over-excited, and we just want to see that come to fruition - I'd imagine a lot of people are guilty of that.

I think as long as they get the players all will be well. The real issues will be if they leave it late and don't get the players of the quality they want.

Personally I do think KDB is the 'central' player we're looking at and that Pogba is an exceptional transfer where if we can do it on the terms that suit us we will, but if not we won't necessarily go into the market for another midfielder. Not with Navas and Nasri both staying.

Khaldoon has to remember that signing two England internationals, one of whom is prised from the 5 times European Champions for a record fee, means nothing to the spoilt fuckers who follow City these days.

While KdB is a talented player he's not an essential purchase, Sterling Kun and Silva as the front three, with Yaya , Dinho and Pogba?? behind. Nasri as back up for DS. Navas for Raheem. The two outstanding positions in the starting line up that need attention are CM and a LB.

just think if we get him it gives us sustain pressure from both sides
