De Bruyne?

Get a fucking grip. We've signed Mangala, who was a hugely sought after defender, Jovetic, who again was hugely rated, we've took Nasri, Sagna off Arsenal, and are now currently trying to sign the best player in the Bundesliga.
Could list a good few more, unfortunately he seems to have ickle city syndrome and can move forward with the club, would be better supporting Stockport or Macc town where the club could compete with his ambitions.

I'd even add we've just signed the most potentially talented English player of the last 10 years in Sterling.

What's the difference, whether De Bruyne comes in for Jovetic or Dzeko. They are not earmarked.
Just meant that if the De Bruyne deal was done first and then suddenly the situation changed with Pogba - the club might not be able to move on the second deal until the extra space was freed up - we need Dzeko sealed and then we can get two in - hopefully PP and KDB.

It's a fair point though- we have not for whatever reason attracted the really big name players after Kun. Part if it is FFP and partly because we gave big names/great players of our own but we have missed out on Hazard, Sanchez, Van Persie, Schweinsteiger, DeRossi, Isco, and possibly now Pogba - all big names/ star players who would have improved the squad

I would of had our targets by now

Don't forget Yaya will be here for the season, not off to ACON, and his form is bound to be better. Plus Delph over Fernando

What difference will Yaya make in Champions League? Why can't we just accept that we need a central midfielder whether birthday boy stays or not?

We were never in for Sanchez. De Rossi is not a huge name. Schweinsteigher had a really bad season and wasn't on anyones radar. I can only see Hazard/Isco who we really missed out on. To say Sterlings not a big name is also ridiculous.

I was hoping KDB coming in as soon as there was one spot vacant. Pogba was always difficult. But never thought KDB deal to take so long.

We was in for Sanchez when he went to Barcelona

Really pisses me off all this ickle city nonsense that gets directed at posters who think we aren't yet up there with Barca or Madrid.

We didn't sign Neymar or Gotze did we? Isco? All players we were allegedly after.

And can you imagine Barca or Madrid going to Stuutgart and getting dicked 4/0 in the first half? Thought not.

We have made huge strides the last few seasons and we will get to the summit but we are not quite there yet.

I just don't understand why fans are so quick to make excuses.
Despite FFP we've spent a fortune on crap since Kun and looks like this year we won't break that trend either.

Yes, none of them are first rate players. Being a second rate player is being a very good player. Don't take that as a negative.

I didn't say we were up with Barca, but if you think we can only look at 2nd rate players then I don't think you understand where our owns plan to go, still each to their own.

Hmm if we've only signed crap since Kun, then how come we've won the league twice and the Carling Cup. In theory., it's your logic that is crap

Yaya-Delp/Fernandinho against Kroos-Modric or Busquets-Rakitic. The shortcomings from last season are still there, on top of that we would also have to incorporate a new attacking system of De Bruyne and Sterling. Another year of midfield mediocrity!

If this is still happening.....I would hope that all the work has already been done and a De Bruyne agreement would be ready to be officially announced now that Dzeko and Jovetic are gone.....in my opinion, we have no more reasons/excuses for delaying this deal....

It's been 4 years since we signed Kun. In that time we have signed Dinho, Navas, Jovetic, Fernando, Mangala, MdM, Negredo, Sagna, Delph, Bony and Sterling. From that lot only Raheem is a world class talent. Jovetic possibly could have been but injuries and Pellegrini's reluctance to give him game time make it difficult to say. Some of the others are very good ie Fernandinho and Bony and some are good pros MdM, Navas and Delph.

In the meantime Barca have purchased Neymar, Suarez, Rakitic and Madrid have signed Isco, di Maria, James, Bale need I go on. Bayern have bought some stellar players too. And nearer to home Chelsea have bought Hazard and Fabregas. Arsenal Sanchez and Qzil.
