We've sold two strikers, one of whom scored an average of 20 goals a season for us, and replaced them with an unproven 18 year old Kelechi and Bony, a player who is arguably unsuitable for our technical style.

We have lost Milner, a player who brought us graft, intelligence and tactical flexibility, and Lampard, a player whose match winning goals papered over several cracks last season.

If you think our summer is going well then that's your prerogative, but personally I am becoming increasingly alarmed about a squad which was almost dragged into a scrap for fourth at the end of last season, and has arguably gotten worse since.

You're complaining about losing Dzeko and you don't think Bony is technically good enough for us?

I don't care about Melbourne city or New York City or this holistic brand I want to see us beat real or barca in a game that matters. Defend a league title. I know what you mean. The natural pessimist in me wonders if we are treading financial water this season to build a bigger war chest for next. Or maybe those in charge see the season as one where the Academy will be given a chance to deliver. I dunno. From the outside and amateur perspective it does seem odd that things like the LB issue hasn't been addressed.

But Delph and Sterling are good signings. Throw in Stones and Bale and I'd be practically paralysed with anticipation

I do really like john stones and would love to sign him next summer but this year who's place does he take out of Denayer, Kompany, Mangala or Demichelis?

I'm expecting De Bruyne through the door this week and Pogba having a grand unveiling at the open training session next week ;-)
 
I don't care about technical ability.
If brute force scores goals, I'll take it.

But back on topic. I think if we see the Dzeko deal go through, then we might be ready to put in a bid.
