I don't see how anyone can disagree with the view that the planning and delivery of our player acquisition strategy has been inept this summer.

Who's responsible? Personnel?

I do question how Gary Cooke was able to recruit players like Silva and Toure yet these so called Barcelona football gurus can't do the same even though were in a much stronger and more attractive position now

Silva and Toure are bigger names since joining City. At that time, we weren't a great team and upgrading was easier in terms of better players on the market. With money and the vision, we persuaded some to join... But remember we also bought some expensive duds too.

Now we are a much better team, and upgrading is harder because there are less players available to improve us, and we are no longer competing with Spurs or Liverpool for players, we are competing with Real and Barca et al.

It's a much changed proposition.

We now have a lot more credibility, but a smaller pool of elite players from which to upgrade, and some far stronger rivals competing for signings

If you check your facts all I have done is calmly state when a particular player is not going to join or when the transfer business has concluded. I have been right every time except Bony and even then I didn't actually say he wasn't coming but only scoffed at the suggestion and was wrong in that case. So wind your neck in.
