There is a diference between DDR and Kaka, notwithstanding the club might be perceived to have bottled it, the player has been a one man club, in many respects similar to Giggs at the rags (apart from his start in football). Kaka on the other hand had been bought from elsewhere. As I said in my post they will take the opportunity to have a right old go at so called arab money, and to make a statement about Italian football and Roma in particular. But on the other hand the argument about why wait so long to do it is also compelling. Too close to call but I expect the worse.

Point taken Rammy.

But Giggs under Bacon Face kept on winning trophies and silverware. Why leave? If De Rossi stays at Roma he probably won't even play in the CL, nevermind win anything.

He's served his time at Roma. He's coming to the end of his career. Surely to God even he can see what the future holds if he stays at Roma?

Last two times when Mancini wanted De Rossi we ended up with Hargo and then Pizarro.

Will be fun to know who we get this time instead of him. Marwood is a big magician (to keep his job so well), we might get the "bomb-defcon" Charlie Adam from Pool.

Let me get this in before it happens.

We've apparently been chasing De Rossi for weeks, gone through all the f***ing about again, and in return he holds a press conference making us the laughing stock of the footbal world by announcing he is staying with Roma and had no wish to play for Machester City.

Bottled it No2 coming up.

Yeah, that's one strong possibility. Hopefully he is in good contact with Mancini so wont take City's name trough the mud by mentioning, and he says he had different offers, different cubs but he loves Roma forever etc.

To be honest I must say that if we fail on De Rossi which it looks likely it's been a very disappointing window and questions must be asked.

Surely we wouldn't show this much interest in DDR if the idea of a transfer to City hadn't been entertained at all by his agent. Especially considering how fiercely loyal DDR is to Roma. He's known about our interest for ages. Why has he not told us to do one.

I am not so sure he is worried about trinkets, I think his whole life is devoted to that club and it wouldn't surprise me after he has finished playing he ends up coaching there.

which questions?

How as champions we have not improved our squad on last season?

No apparently it doesn't matter if we look like desperate twits, they are invisible internet people laughing at us, don't worry !!

Tbf I couldn't give a flying fuck what any other fan thought about our transfer dealing's, I also couldn't give any less of a fuck what the media say about it either! so all this "look like desperate twits" stuff is meaningless.
We're the PL champions & have won three trophies in fifteen months, fuck em, fuck the lot of em. I've heard this shit off other fans for 34 years so it's water off a ducks back. So what if we want a player & he then decides to stay where he is. You know what, we'll just move on & buy someone else. Other fans crap won't stop us winning the league again this year regardless of what they hope or think.
I've said it already but I'll say it again.... FUCK EM!

Really confused about the press conference.

If he really wasn't interested why not just say it? why make a song and dance about it?

a press conference is the right move for de rossi. there he can say something like

"i love roma and the fans , i really want to stay here , but if my selling can help to build a stronger team with an eye on the future i cannot say no to the club will , becouse i'm a fan of this club"

then the ball is in the club's hand......

Its in good taste toward Roma fans that DDR "considers the move" publically. Even if he the decision has long been made. We are buying the Ryan Giggs of Roma or the Xavi of Catalunya. We wouldn't be too happy if ten years from now Micah Richards or Joe Hart were prized away by the likes of Real Madrid without some sort of tip of the hat to the club.
