Declan Rice

He can play centre back as well and with pep liking this four centre backs system he will be ideal as team player! Still not sure though if we really after him! Our name gets linked because West Ham wants as much as they can get for him..

I've been quite down on him for a few years because he was very limited for the prices floated, but I think the conference league run has shown another side to his game that's started to come out in the PL as well. Much more box to box, much more of a goal threat. Becoming captain seems to have made him more adventurous too.

I'd still have reservations for the prices mentioned but nothing major.
You've got to take into account the Moyes factor and I also think he tries to do too much. It would take him time to adapt, like Grealish, but I think there's a great talent in there with better coaching.

As with Bellingham, if they've got any sense, they'd jump at the chance to be trained by Pep. We shouldn't need to pursue any midfielder this summer, they should be banging our door down.

Pretty much what I’ve been saying to our resident Arsenal fan. The only question is are we in for him? I have to believe we are, he’s a no brainer especially with Gundo and Bernie coming towards the end. If we’re not in for him? Big mistake.

This has got to have some legs, and so it should. In Peps words "He's an exceptional player" so that's good enough for me. Pep wasn't fluffing him up either, he was genuine in his praise.

He's versatile, a strong runner, no lack of skills, and is improving to show leadership qualities. Best of all is his mentality and character fits our MO perfectly. He's exactly the type of player we target.

If Bellingham to Madrid is confirmed we'll be all over Declan and he'll jump at the chance to join us above all others. Can't see him moving abroad. Kalvin would be a good fit for WH and Moyes is an admirer, so I can see that being something that works in our favour. WH get a solid addition and a chunky bag of cash leftover to strengthen elsewhere.

Might be an (extremely) unpopular opinion, but I think I would rather have Rice than Bellingham. Bellingham strikes me as the kind of player that can be outstanding in some games and go completely missing in others, whereas Rice is a consistent 8/10 all year round. Rice v Bellingham could be this generations Gerrard v Lampard.

This transfer would make sense. We play 3+2 in possession (3 CBs and 2 DMs with Stones), so Rice would rotate with either Stones or Rodri to play in double pivot or more likely it would be Rice + Rodri and Stones would be pushed back to play as a right-sided centre back against teams that have no pace and we don't need Walker to cover up. If it happens, this will be the end for Pep in pursuing versatile inverted fullbacks, because there are very few of them who could play at this level.
