But when arteta goes to Barca?
Then we'll need to deal with it, the same way you will when Pep leaves and Pool will when Klopp leaves.
Don't see Barca being that attractive to him for the time being.
If I could choose, I'd definitely go for Barella instead. If Rice ends up going to Arsenal, it's no big deal for me. Rice is a good player, so if he joins, great, but if not, it's not a problem. If we could get someone like Barella instead, we wouldn't be worse off, that's for sure.

The fans and media were awash with praise that they had brought in Gabby and Zin and how that would bring that winning mentality to get them over the line. We knew better so we let those players move on.
I'm not sure many were saying that. Pre season most rival fans and media didn't even have Arsenal as finishing in the top 4, never mind being title winners.
So the fact they help turn us into a title challenging team, I'd argue brought a winning mentality of sorts, just not enough against the juggernaut that is City just now.

I think this will take time. Not because the difficulty or because of Arsenal just we aren’t rushing it. Sitting down with West Ham and working things out, same with Rice and his agent. This is clearly a big deal and we are doing it respectfully. I imagine when we bid it won’t get turned down twice it will be accepted, just need to find common ground.
Whether we like it or not, it seems Kovacic is the Gundogan replacement. We were supposed to spend 300m+. I just don't know which players do we have in mind. Kovacic + Gvardiol = 100m. 200m remains a mystery for now...

Exactly my view too. If Pep does want Rice we need to just blow Arsenal away, offer what West Ham want if the player has given us an indication he wants to come.
As the team at the pinnacle of football right now, with the added factor of Pep, we should be able to get whoever we want. We’ll never have a better opportunity than as Treble winners, I’m not sure why we’re aiming for average signings like Kovacic having already missed out on Bellingham to a European ‘history club’. To overcome that type of club, eg Arse, scouse, rags in terms of perceived prestige, we need to continue to sign the best available players.

i think rice is a lot better than alot of people realize. not only does he tackle hard but he suprisingly has a little bit of de bruyne in him. hes more creative than we think.

No chance West Ham accept without speaking to us first to see if we would be willing to go higher (if it is even true we have registered interest) as it would be utterly negligent.Arsenal will bid again today and sounds like it’ll get accepted if the addons are ok.

Caicedo is going to cost 120 mil.
Rice is the only midfielder that we can realistically get.
