Exactly. John terry been slow as for years but his reading of the game is immense. The numptys who just shout pace don't understand football.

Played 7 years at Bayern Munich - together with Santa Cruz and Hargreaves and van Buyten... ;) Probably the only transfer directly from South America Bayern had that really worked. Played 174 matches for Bayern.

Lost his place at Bayern to Badstuber in 2010/2011. Van Gaal promotes youth. That is why he left Munich in winter 2011 (like van Bommel did).

He was outstanding in some of the CL matches last year - sometimes I still follow his matches.

Has a lot experience and can even be used as a defensive midfielder - Malaga did a couple of times the recent two years e.g. against Real.

I can see him being used as a defensive midfielder quite a bit, especially with Barry on his way out

I don't understand why we'd let Kolo leave and then sign this guy instead. I could understand letting Toure go if we've decided he's too old, but then why go out and sign a player of the same age? I don't imagine there is a big gap in their respective talents and we've just shelled out £4m. Seems a waste.
