Denmark v Finland | Euro 2020 Group Stage

Credit to Taylor for stopping the game almost immediately (5 seconds) and getting the medics on. I know refs are trained for this situation but I doubt any of them would think they would have to do it during a game. He handled the entire situation really well.

Maybe @richardtheref can give us more insight how refs are trained for this
People mAy give refs a lot of shit, but that was the most important decision he will ever make in his refereeing career and he got it spot on.
It’s easy watching and saying how obvious it was but in the moment to react like he did he should get credit.

I’m glad he appears to be doing well and am thankful he is getting the best care possible.

There seems to be a lot of hand wringing and flapping over the coverage. I’m not sure what they did that was so wrong. And, for those of you for whom this was some life changing event, you need to get out more.

I hope Erikson and his loved ones are resting a little easier tonight than they were for a short period this afternoon, and that they live a long, comfortable, loving life together.
The tv pictures of a man dying felt intrusive at the time. The filming of his girlfriend, grief stricken and wondering whether the father of her children had just died, felt insensitive.

Watching that unfold (i turned off the moment CPR was being administered) clearly made people face their own mortality and it seems odd to suggest that those people shouldn't be emotionally affected by that.

The BBC have said it is UEFA who are responsible for stadium coverage.... not us.

Well the did not have to transmit those images and could quite easily have gone back to the studio. I hope they don't get away with broadcasting inappropriate coverage and images!

Typical BBC - whatever happens it is NEVER their fault.

I'm relieved that he has got through the initial arrest and hope he makes a full and rapid coverage. I was driving and listening to Talk Sport at the time so saw no live pictures. Their commentary was harrowing enough.

The coverage getting a slaughtering on here, but I thought, given the circumstances and the shock, the coverage was at a distance and was trying desperately not to be intrusive.
Thankfully no replays were shown and when they did move to a camera showing something distressing, they didn't linger And it was at distance.

Thank god all our prayers were answered.
Again, well done Alty and the medical people.

You don’t think it is wrong to zoom in on a mans face when he is clearly in A bad way after collapsing to the ground??
You don’t think filming the close up faces of his teammates and girlfriend/wife during this time is wrong?
Not about getting out more, just about being a decent person

It’s all around you every day, but if it made you feel squishy seeing reality, so be it.

I think the cameraman was doing his job, and his immediate reaction was human, as evidenced by quickly moving on from the image. He was covering news, which we have now been discussing for EIGHTY PAGES of “thoughts and prayers.”
