Denmark v Finland | Euro 2020 Group Stage

I think the cameraman was doing his job, and his immediate reaction was human, as evidenced by quickly moving on from the image. He was covering news, which we have now been discussing for EIGHTY PAGES of “thoughts and prayers.”
He was doing his job
The director did not do his job though
He should have cut away and assessed the situation before selecting the next best camera shot

Course it is Mate
Every day we watch people being given cpr don’t we?
We just sit there watching it in our living rooms don’t we
Please don’t misquote me or get all emotional about it.

Two people die every second, and while we don’t often see it, that doesn’t stop it from happening.

What happened was extraordinary, and newsworthy. The level and depth of that coverage leaves room for debate, but that’s not my issue. If it made you face your own mortality, that might be shocking to you. I don’t find it so.

So, while we don’t normally sit and watch people “die” on the soccer field, humans are fascinated enough to watch videos of such things regularly, and 99/100 people slow down and rubberneck at the scene of a bad accident. What’s that about…“Oooh, that motor is totaled, what a shame!”???

It is jarring to see a supposedly healthy 30 year old man fall flat on his face. From there, it’s life. Or death. In this case, thankfully, the former. That makes me happy, but it hasn’t altered my life one iota.

It’s all around you every day, but if it made you feel squishy seeing reality, so be it.
They won’t show you a fan running on a pitch but they’ll show a someone die?

This was mid afternoon with kids watching and you think it was normal?

Before you say I’m a bit soft and squishy, I can promise you I am not. What they showed was totally inappropriate.

This from the someone from a news paper that plastered the picture of Marc Vivien-Foe over their front page after he died on the pitch for cameroon

The BBC have said it is UEFA who are responsible for stadium coverage.... not us.

Well the did not have to transmit those images and could quite easily have gone back to the studio. I hope they don't get away with broadcasting inappropriate coverage and images!
Pretty obvious the player was in serious trouble, swift action by officials, trainers and medics was reassuring. Reasons not established but I'd go with a pre existing condition rather than 'over playing. Unpleasant for some to watch but that is what an on/off button is for. Good to see him conscious as he was taken from the pitch. Hopefully he fully recovers

The coverage getting a slaughtering on here, but I thought, given the circumstances and the shock, the coverage was at a distance and was trying desperately not to be intrusive.
Thankfully no replays were shown and when they did move to a camera showing something distressing, the didn't linger And it was at distance.

Thank god all our prayers were answered.
Again, well done Alty and the medical people.
UFEA fucked up. They zoomed in on Eriksens face when he was clearly unconscious. They could of cut the feed. They didn't

They showed him having CPR on the field. They should of cut the feed. They didn't.

Then after all that they zoomed in on Eriksens wife who was clearly distressed. They should of cut the feed. They didnt.

The BBC had to issue an apology last night for not cutting the feed sooner. UFEA should do exactly the same

We've got a real Ron Swanson here. "Keep your tears in your eyes where they belong!"
Not a big Parks & Rec guy, but Offerman is a brilliant character actor!

Swanson, I’m not. I can tear up at a soppy commercial, esp the father - son stuff, but the vagaries of life? Not so much!

You’re trying to equate this with some drunk twat running on the pitch?! Err, OK!

I guess you’re entitled to your views!

Whatever you do, don’t let your kids read history, watch the news, or ffs go to the movies!!!
